Summer Camp Tips

While you are in camp dropping off your son you might want to take time out to visit the beautiful outdoor chapel at the camp. If you take time to look at the inscriptions in the altar area you may recognize some of the names you will find there.

Prior to camp get the merit badge books for the badges your son hopes to take. These books can be obtained at the BSA store in Milford. Also, buy mosquito netting and a poncho prior to camp. These items can be purchased at the BSA store in Milford. However, many of the boys prefer netting from an Army/Navy store.

There is one phone for the entire camp. We will offer to escort boys who would like to call home to a phone nightly. Boys will probably not call home very often.

See the list in the summer camp packet for items not allowed in camp.

Several of the merit badges offered at camp have pre-requisites. Take a look at the summer camp packet.

Please encourage your son to attend the non-denominational service held in the camp’s chapel.

Boys are required to use the buddy system for the entire week at camp. That is, no boy should be moving around the camp without a buddy.

Please, please, please pack deodorant and soap for your son and encourage him to take at least three showers while at camp and to use the soap and the deodorant. Thank you!!!
