I am a member of The Villages Vintage Car Club and The Villages Vettes. Al Stone of the Villages Vintage Car Club, Fred Fisher of the Villages Mustang Club and I have been working on on a joint trip with the Villages Vintage Car Club, The Villages Vettes and the Villages Mustang club to Punta Gorda Florida to visit the Muscle Car Museum.

The museum covers 99,000 square feet of cars from the 1920s through the muscle car era and beyond. There are over 200 cars, an operating 60’s style diner, speed shop and other features.

Take a look at http://www.musclecarcity.net/ for a look at what they have to offer.

The trip is scheduled for Friday November 12 and Saturday November 13, 2010. It will be an overnight trip. We are planning driving to Punta Gorda Friday afternoon. Al is checking into a Comedy Club Dinner theatre for dinner Friday night with all three clubs. We are looking for a place to have breakfast Saturday morning big enough to handle all three clubs and we will be finalizing hotel arrangements by the end of June. We are planning an evening in Old Town on the return trip home. I know many of us do not feel comfortable driving our collector vehicles that far, including me with my 78 Vette. For those of us who would rather “go modern” that will be perfectly fine.

This looks like a really great trip with our friends in the other clubs. A good chance to meet other car nuts just like us and enjoy an overnight excursion. We currently have 38 people signed up from the Villages Vettes, 28 people from the Mustang Club and 12 from the Villages Vintage Car Club.
