Biology is devoted to the study of living things and their processes. Throughout the semester this course provides an opportunity for students to develop scientific process skills, laboratory techniques, and an understanding of the fundamental principles of living organisms. Students will be required to take the End- of-Course Test for Biology and must receive at Level III or Level IV. Students must master the following Standards to achieve success in this course:  Structure and functions of living organisms  Ecosystems  Evolution and Genetics  Molecular Biology

Expectations & Requirements Students are expected to be in class and on time everyday. All work must be submitted on time, neat, and complete. In the event of an absence, work must be turned in the next day or it will be considered late. Late assignments will NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Extra Help Students who need extra help will be allowed to attend Learning Center every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 until 4:00 unless otherwise stated. Students are strongly encouraged to attend these sessions in order to acquire a better understanding of the information as well as receive tutoring in a one-on-one or small group setting. Saturday Academy will be available to make up days. Also, it will be used for EOC review nearing the end of the semester.

Materials Students will need to bring the following materials with them to class everyday:  Composition Book (college ruled paper only) – THIS WILL BE PROVIDED!  Pens/Pencils  Coloring Pencils/Fine Tip Markers  Glue Sticks, Tape or both

Grading Scale: 100-90 A 89-80 B 79-70 C 69-60 D 59 & below F
