The native breeds saw Aberdeen Angus steers to £1170 (200p/kg) & £1015 (185p/kg) from M/s D & E 447 PRIME HOGGETTS Clark & Sons, Culkerton. A run of Beef Shorthorn steers from M/s F & R Tuck, 10.15 am – Auctioneer: Chris Voyce Wootton Bassett sold to £1035 (152p/kg) & £1020 (170p/kg). Overall Average – 191p/kg The stronger older heifers (over 22 months) saw Limousin’s to £1170 (195p/kg) & (182p/kg) from M/s Watkins Partners, Rockhampton with their Hereford’s to £985 A short entry as in many markets this week saw a slightly improved trade. The (154p/kg). better shaped hoggetts traded over 200p/kg topping at 216p/kg £86.20 for 40kg The farming heifers (18 – 22 months) saw Simmental’s to £1080 (193p/kg) & £980 from M/s P & R Clark. The general run of hoggs & medium weight sorts traded (180p/kg) from M/s T & I Biddle, St Briavels. South Devon heifers sold to £890 between 195 – 200p/kg. (168p/kg) & £865 (170p/kg) from M/s Millard Bros, Coopers Hill. The heavier sorts sold to a similar trade selling £99 - £103.50 topping at Younger cattle saw Limousin steers to £780 (188p/kg) from M/s Grove Bros, £117.50 for 73kg from Mr P H Baker.
