VIRTUE: HUMILITY When you are humble you don’t act as if you are more important than other people because you are not; each of us equal in value before God. You are happy to serve others and think other people’s needs are important. You don’t expect others or yourself to be perfect. You admit mistakes and learn from them. Sometimes mistakes are our best teachers – if we choose to learn.

HOT LUNCH – PIZZA You may use cash or pizza card. All orders must be in by noon on Wednesday.

TUTION COMMITMENT FORM: ALL RETURNING FAMILIES MUST FILL IN THE FORM St. Joseph’s School Council sent home a letter and a Tuition Commitment Form with each family to complete, unless your family is NOT returning to St. Joseph’s next September. This form will be required each year is to confirm enrollment and keep our family information up-to-date. Please return the form by March 4th. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. *IF YOU DO NOT REYURN YOUR COMPLETED TUIITION COMMITMENT FORM WE ARE ASSUMING THAT YOUR FAMILY WILL NOT BE RETURNING FOR THE 2016/2017 SCHOOL YEAR.

ST. JOSEPH’S YEARBOOK 2015/2016 Unfortunately we have only received 39 paid orders so the yearbook committee will have to decide if it is a go. We needed 50 orders. We will let you know in the next Tuesday Note if the yearbook will happen. BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT The grade 6/7 boys and girls will be traveling to Houston for a district basketball tournament on Thursday, March 10th. A permission note will be going home soon. More details to follow. SPRING FUNDRAISER Thank you to Jodi Blackburn for spear-heading this fundraiser. Each student will receive a plant order form this week. Your family name will be on your form. Cheques are made out to St. Joseph’s School. All orders must be in by April 6th so we can have our plants here by April 27th. The plants and baskets make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift. If you do not wish to participate in this fundraiser, please return your form to the office. All funds raised will go to safety and first aid supplies and student equipment and activities. For more information call the office at 250-847-9414. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PRE-PAID. The blooms, herbs, strawberries etc are arriving on Wednesday, April 27th and you are responsible to pick up your whole order and deliver to the people on your list.

HELP NEEDED: If several parents are able to volunteer Wednesday to inventory and distribute the order – it would help out a great deal. It is tricky for Mrs. McGibbon to be in and out of the office all day.

DR SEUSS DAY - tomorrow Tomorrow, in honour and in memory of Leonie, who loved Dr. Seuss books and signed them out every week on library day, the staff and students are having Dr. Seuss Day! Students are invited to dress like a Dr. Seuss character or any bright coloured mix-matched clothing and there will be fun “Seussian” events during the day.

EXTRA CLOTHES It is that time of year where the weather is warming up and the snow is melting. The younger students are drawn to the puddles and any water they can find. Please send in extra socks, pants, and shoes with your children to save a phone call home for a change of clothes. Thank you.

SCHOOL COUNCIL – SEEKING NEW MEMBERS–something to think about We have two council members whose terms are up. We are looking for two candidates to replace them. Nominations will be accepted until April 20th for these positions. School Council nominees must be Catholic and the candidate does not need to be a parent of a student at St. Joseph’s. If you are interested, but not sure about the positions, you are welcome at any council meeting. The meetings are held once a month, usually on a Monday night, at 7:00 in the library. Nomination forms for School Council will be available in the school office.

CLASS NEWS: GR. 1: will be going cross-country skiing on, March 3rd and March 10th. GR 4,5,6 & 7: - will be going downhill skiing on March 4th. Students will arrive back at the school around 5:00.
