Topic: Digital imaging / Digital design

Content Standards: This lesson conforms to general content standards 1,2,3,5,8,9,12 on pages 19 and 20 and Visual Technologies standards 1-4 on page 22 Of the State course of study Career Technologies

In this module, students will learn the principles of Digital Design and explore careers relating Photography and digital imaging.

Days 1-10

• Print graphic image • Produce a digitized image with the use of a scanner • Transfer printed image onto a mouse pad • Load and view graphic files from a CD • Apply photos and text in design Knowledge • Career opportunities related to the commercial graphics industry • Fundamental image enhancement techniques • Elements of layout and design Embedded Credit: N/A Integrated Academic Standards • Math/Measure • Science • Reading • Problem Solving Learning Activities: Activities • Activity 1 - Introduction and Pre-Test • Activity 2 - Photoshop Overview • Activity 3 - Photo Manipulation • Activity 4 - Photo Manipulation II • Activity 5 - Scanner Introduction • Activity 6 - Individual Scans • Activity 7 - Enhancing Images • Activity 8 - Page Layout • Activity 9 - Print Transfer • Activity 10 - Post-Test and Wrap-up
