ReachOut Fundraising Manager
Job description
The Fundraising Manager will manage all ReachOut fundraising operations, reporting to the senior management team. The Fundraising Manager will lead on all fundraising activity in London and Manchester, managing any fundraising staff in both locations to achieve desired levels of income. The Fundraising Manager will ensure high quality customer service approach to all fundraising activities, personally manage relationships with corporates in London, and source new funding opportunities in all fields.
The Fundraising Manager will make sure all staff are trained and use the Salesforce database. They will ensure monitoring & evaluation is completed to required standards in a timely fashion. They will also manage relationships with any 3rd parties involved in fundraising work, such as Competitive Solutions or events companies.
Trusts and Foundations Fundraising
Oversee research, prioritisation and allocation of responsibility for grant applications to funding bodies by ReachOut fundraising staff and/or 3rd parties.
Use programme/project delivery plans and budgets to ensure all applications meet required quality standards. Work to strict deadlines and under pressure, recording all applications made.
Follow up on all applications, including finding out why funding may not have been granted and sending out appropriate acknowledgement, in particular recording key dates for reporting to funders and ensuring appropriate information and reports are prepared by relevant staff and sent to funders in a timely fashion
Build and maintain relationships with funders. This may include but is not limited to:
Meetings Phone calls Sending thank you correspondence at appropriate times (e.g. end of year) Sending Christmas cards Attending events
Corporates
Research and develop relationships with corporates to involve them in the charity by utilising one off/regular volunteering and in-kind/cash donations, recording all relationships and accounts using Salesforce or similar.
Work in conjunction with other members of staff to make the most of connections within the charity, including staff and current/former volunteers, involving contacts where appropriate in fundraising events, such as the ReachOut Charity Cup fundraising football tournament.
Progress relationships and maximise opportunities for support, and manage multiple ‘Charity of the Year’ relationships which include off/regular volunteering, in-kind/cash donations, and community fundraising.
Maximise value for both ReachOut and partner company for all corporate partnerships the charity has.
Community Fundraising
Work with their fundraising team to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising events in aid of the charity with the Fundraising Intern(s) and other ReachOut staff, including running and other sporting events. Deliver a programme of community fundraising, involving local university students in events such as bag packing, street collections and small ‘in aid of’ events.
Ensure we maintain customer focused approach for Community Fundraising for every event and individual fundraiser.
Government & Local Authority funding
Research potential funding bodies and record list of possible funders.
Use programme/project delivery plans and budgets to make applications to funders, meeting strict deadlines and at times working with 3rd parties to submit applications – ie Competitive Solutions or consortium partners.
Fundraising Evidence of Need and Impact
Work with relevant ReachOut staff to develop and maintain data to support funding applications, namely evidencing needs and benefits. This may include but is not limited to:
Evidence of financial hardship Evidence of lack of similar services Evidence of lack of attainment, opportunity or aspiration School-based data, regional data and national data Case studies of effective service provision
Individual Giving & Alumni
Develop and maintain our direct donation scheme, recording all direct donations (individual and company one off and regular) and monitor year-on-year performance. This includes but is not limited to:
Promotion Administration Donor thanking and stewardship
Other
Develop and maintain the fundraising arm of the website.
Maintain communications with volunteers and members of the public via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, the ReachOut Blog and other appropriate means.
General duties
Any other duties as required by ReachOut

Person specification
Education
A degree (desirable) or relevant experience Knowledge/skills
Management experience - leading a team in various locations to achieve common objectives
Ability to project an organisation positively, clearly and effectively in all communications, written and spoken
Ability to present a case convincingly in person
Ability to think creatively about new ways of communicating information
Ability to prioritise a demanding workload, strong organisational skills
Computer literate i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel
Knowledge of databases
Knowledge of Salesforce/Raiser’s Edge fundraising database (desirable)
Excellent grammar and written English
Experience
Experience of Trusts and Foundations Fundraising
Experience of Corporate Fundraising
Face-to-face fundraising
Negotiating with a range of constituent groups

Ability to deal with senior colleagues, donors and alumni
