Installation Instructions Caravan Entrance Door

Before mounting the caravan-door, the position where the door is to be fitted should be selected in such a way that the door will not impair any adjacent components, cables or fitted cupboards inside the vehicle or detract from the functions of other fastening or reinforced components.

Prerequisite for a correct installation of the caravan-door is a flat inner and outer wall-surface.

In order to avoid any damage to the side-wall, the cut-out must be robust. (e.g.. reinforced with wooden or tubular frames)

The frame of the caravan-door is ready for installation in a wall thickness from 24-43 mm.

Caution : The installation should be done only by trained specialists. No liability is assumed for incorrect installation of the caravan-door !

Note : Lock Cylinder and key are only available from the caravan-manufacturer !

1. Ascertain the position and cut-out-dimensions (tolerance +/- 1 mm) of the caravan-door on the vehicle accor- ding to the conditions named above.

3. The caravan-door should be fitted by glueing and clamping of the frame.

An elastic adhesive should be used (e.g. PU Sikaflex 221 or 252) Before applying the elastic PU-adhesive to the frame, all surfaces to be bonded must be cleaned and primed. (e.g. Sika 205 / Sika 215) Please comply exactly with the instructions issued by the adhesive manufacturer. We recommend applying a triangular bead of appr 6-8 mm. Remove surplus adhesive immediately.

Our technical advice provided in words, pictures and based on tests is offered to the best of our knowledge, but can only served as a nonbonding recommendation.

4. An assistant fits the door in position from the outside. The frame is fitted at the bottom and positioned in a way, (excluding the lock area) that a symmetrical and rotating door-split between door-panel and frame is present. Please consider that there must be a split of 3 mm in the lock-area between the locking-quoin and the inside-door- handle during the movement of the door ; if not, this split must be adapted f.e. by lining the frame with wooden strips. From the inside, now the fixing-clamps must be screwed on the tubes of the frame and tightened with a max. torque of appr. 2,5 Nm. Finally, the screws on the frame (right-side / left-side - each three pcs.) must be fixed.

Attention :

Please screw carefully in order to get no distortion of the frame. (possibly it must be lined with wooden strips)

5. From the inside clip the cover profiles to the frame. (starting from the locking-quoin, short-part on the bottom - long part on the top)

6. Clip the cover of the locking-quoin and check the split of 3 mm between the locking-quoin and the inside-door-handle during the movement of the door ; if not, this split has to be adjusted f.e. by lining the frame with wooden strips before the cover is screwed.

7. Check functions of the door by opening, closing, locking etc

8. Keep the door closed until the hardening-process of the adhesive is finished.

Instructions for using the Caravan-Entrance-Door

Operation of the locking-mechanism from the outside :

To open the caravan-door from the outside, press the opening lever in the door handle. To open a locked caravan-door from the outside, turn the key to the left direction (hinges right side) or right direction (hinges left side) and afterwards in the vertical position, remove the key and press the opening lever in the door- handle. To lock the caravan-door, turn the key to the left direction (hinges right side) or right direction (hinges left side) and afterwards in the vertical position and remove it. Check that the door is locked by pressing the opening lever.

Reference : If you pull the outside-handle and press the inside-locking-button at the same time, maybe the unlock-mechanism can be blocked !

Operation of the locking-mechanism from the inside :

To open the caravan-door from the inside, press the opening lever in the recessed inner handle. To lock the door from the inside, push the knob on the handle unit down.

Instructions for the blinds :

Always grasp the end-rods in the middle. To close the blinds, pull the end-rod of the black-out blind up on the end-rod of the fly screen until the rocker engages. To separate the blinds, push them towards the flyscreen as far as they will go and disengage the rocker. Now guide the end-rod of the black-out blind into position – do not let it recoil.

Do not keep the blinds closed for a longer period of time, as this could cause material fatigue.

Instructions for the window :

To open the window pane, both toggle catches must be opened.. In this case, press the locking knob in the middle of the toggle catch and turn it of 90°. Pane is now open and will be fixed in a catch position of 175°.

To close the pane, pull the toggle catch and move it until the pane fits closely to the rubber profile ; now turn the bar until the locking knob is locked.

By using the toggle catch, the pane can be fixed either in the closed-position or in the airing-position.

Instructions for care :

Please clean the acrylic pane with the Seitz-Acrylic-Cleaner. (do not use cleaners containing solvents or alcohol) Use French chalk to care for the rubber seals. Only use water and mild soap suds to clean the blinds
