Stow on the Wold Town Council Stow Youth Centre, Fosseway, Stow on the Wold, Glos, GL541DW Clerk: Chris Franklin Phone: 01451 832 585 e-mail [email protected] Minutes of Parks meeting held on 3rd April 2013. Present: Keith Cox (Chairman) (KC), Alun White (AW), Colin Smalley (CS), Simon Clarke (SC) and Robin Jones (RJ)

Apologies: Minutes: Minutes of the meeting held on 19th February were agreed. Matters Arising: As yet no meeting has been arranged with the Abbotswood Estate. Queen Elizabeth 11 and King George V Fields: AW has contacted both Trusts and has been informed about what is and is not permitted on the sites. It is thought that the covenant on the QE11 field has lapsed. Volunteers will be recruited for the planting of the Millennium woodland at the bottom end of the QE11 field. It was suggested that trees be planted along the bottom edge of the KG V field and the self- seeded ash removed. A meeting with GCC to discuss the wastes of Stow is to be re- scheduled. Cricket Pavilion: KC and AW will rough out ideas and bring to the next meeting. Allotments: There are a couple of outstanding fees to be collected. There has been a problem of access to the cemetery for disabled people since the gate was erected. KC has discussed the matter with Mr Small of the Allotment Association, and Mr Small has agreed to put in a pathway to the side of the gate to allow access. There is a tree situated near the gate that may need investigation. The gate was found to be left open on one occasion; KC will speak to AA members. Wells: KC is eager to begin work at the Wells as the project has been delayed. The prospect of moving the parking place nearer to the town away from the Wells was discussed. The work could be carried out with a digger. The Brethren could help with this as they have both the labour and machinery available. KC will speak to Highways about drainage, a pathway and passing place.

Any Other Business: One of the seats on Stocks Green is missing a slat. There are slats missing from the seat at the bottom of Back Walls. It may be possible to replace it. There are people parking on the grass in the Park; Back Walls has rocks preventing this, and it was suggested that a similar idea be used in the Park. It is illegal for people to drive over a raised curb. KC will speak to Bromfords to see if the problem can be resolved.
