Skills required:
o English skills required (verbal, and written) o Excellent computer skills required (Office Package Windows: Words, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). o Good interpersonal skills, including ability to listen and respect others. o Self-motivated and well organized. o Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with others. o Ability to take initiative to manage tasks, and willingness to act as a team member and assist with routine office tasks, such as filing and tracking documents, as needed for program success. o Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and willingness to travel to the provinces and work irregular hours as required completing program assignments. o LANGUAGE(S) required - English, Dari and Pashtu

The International Development Law Organization (IDLO) is an inter-governmental development organization with headquarters in Rome and program offices in Kabul and several other provinces in Afghanistan. IDLO provides training, technical assistance, and research in developing countries, countries in transition, and countries emerging from armed conflict. IDLO began working in Afghanistan in 2001 and has become a leading partner of the Afghan government, donor countries and international agencies to achieve the common goal of strengthening the rule of law. Afghanistan has been an IDLO Member Country since 2012.
Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant will report to the Senior International Legal Advisor in the EVAW Component of the IDLO Supporting Access to Justice in Afghanistan (SAJA) program and will work in close collaboration with the Program and Administrative Coordinator, and Legal Database Specialist.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Component Head and Deputy Component Head, and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Party, the EVAW Unit Administrative Assistant shall: 1. Process purchase requests and other financial documents pursuant to IDLO’s procurement policy; 2. Provide administrative support to project advisors, such as writing letters to Ministries, following up on letters written to Ministries, and preparing course certificates, etc.; 3. Assist the project advisors with necessary administrative tasks, under the direction of the Senior International Legal Advisor or Deputy Component Head (develop quarterly calendar and track progress of trainings and IDLO hosted coordination meetings). 4. Assist with the compiling of the weekly reports. 5. Maintain EVAW Component files concerning staff attendance, and annual/sick leave). 6. Create and maintain a proper filing system for project activities.
Perform other duties assigned by the Senior International Legal Advisor, and/or Chief of Party.
Qualifications To successfully perform her/his duties the Administrative Assistant must have:
1. High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred (law school or current student of law). 2. At least 2 years of experience in administration/logistics; 3. Computer skills (Office Package Windows: Words, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). 4. Data management skills; 5. Knowledge of legal terminology and the Afghan legal system, particularly related to criminal and civil rights and protections for women; 6. Ability to work independently and proactively under minimum supervision; 7. Previous experience working for an international organization on a gender program preferred.
