EFFINGHAM COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL Baseball Booster Club Minutes March 8, 2007

The ECHS Baseball Booster Club meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President, Vicki Rotureau.

The minutes of our February 15, 2007 meeting were read by Secretary, Tammy Jackson. With no further additions to our notes, the minutes were approved.

BOOSTER CLUB  We are still looking for a volunteer Vice President. Please contact Vicki Rotureau if you would like to fill this spot.

FUNDRAISERS  Chicken Dinner – this event is scheduled for Saturday, March 31st. We will kick off a Double Header against Liberty County with JV playing at 1:00 and Varsity playing at 3:30. o Each player is asked to sell a minimum of 20 tickets o Dinner Consists of: ½ Chicken, Potato Salad, Green Beans, and Bread o Cost $6.00 – Pick up between 11:00 – 1:00 at Bus Ramp. o Proceeds to Baseball Coaching Staff by Friday, March 30th. o Grade Level Representatives will be contacting parents for donations for the dinners.  We would like your input on other fundraising ideas (i.e., Movie Night at the Baseball Field; Baseball Dance; 100-Inning Game)

TREASURER’S REPORT  Due to the new accounting system in place this school year we had some difficulty printing a current balance of our account. All amounts noted below are approximate:

o $8,000 24 Hours of Baseball Fundraiser o $ 400 Scrimmage Gate o $ 263 Concessions o ($ 500) Baseball Jackets o ($3,000) Equipment o ($6,000) Infield Clay (we WILL be reimbursed) o BALANCE = approximately $6,500 CONCESSIONS Diamond Girls will work the Rebel Café during home Varsity Games. Unfortunately, we are having difficulty locating enough volunteers to the JV Games. At this time parents will have to work 1 Home Game each. Wanda Hinely has agreed to head up the Concessions during these games – parents please remember to arrive 1 hour before a game for set up and preparation. We make quite a bit of money selling food and the money goes directly back into our Baseball Account for our team needs.

TEAM PICTURES Team and Individual Pictures were taken Wednesday, March 7th. The company handling the photography will mail a proof to your home address. If you want to make a purchase simply complete the brochure and mail this to the company. All proceeds will benefit the ECHS Athletic Booster Club.

Tifton Pre-Season Tournament – went well. Thank you to the Tift County High School Booster Club for the fabulous chicken dinners prepared for our team Friday night. In addition, they supplied PBJ Sandwiches, Homemade Cookies and Gatorade to our players between games. A special Thanks to Coach Griffin’s mother for her role in heading up this event.

In the event we need to get information to players immediately Coach Griffin will contact our President who will then call all Grade Level Representatives to get in touch with parents on their phone tree.

 Booster Club meets again on Thursday, April 12th at 6:00 PM at the Field House.
