GO!Bus ADA paratransit 616-456-6141 “Things to know before you ride”

 When scheduling your ride, please have the exact address (street number and name and directional) to give to the call taker. The drivers are required to take you to the address on the order or to take you home. Please do not give us the wrong address!  Be ready to travel 10 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time. o Schedule accordingly  Have your exact fare ready o GO!Bus ticket or $3.00 exact change . Drivers CANNOT make change  You can schedule trips up to two weeks ahead of the day you need service or as late as 4:30 p.m. the day before you need service.  Driver will assist you from the ground floor entrance of your origin to the vehicle  Driver will assist you into the vehicle and will secure your wheelchair or will assist you with a seatbelt.  When scheduling your ride, please let us know if your wheelchair is wider than 32” or if you and your wheelchair combined weigh over 800 lbs.  When scheduling your ride, please let us know if anyone is going with you (PCA or companion or guest) or if you are traveling with a service animal.  Call the GO!Bus office (616-456-6141) if your ride has not arrived more than 15 minutes after your scheduled time.  If you have to be at your destination by a certain time, please let the call taker who is scheduling your ride know that. The call taker can then tell you when your pick-up time will have to be.  If you are ADA paratransit eligible you can ride The Rapid fixed route for free.

If you have ADA paratransit eligibility with your local transit agency, you can have “visitor status” here. Provide The Rapid with a copy of your ADA ID card or letter of approval and we can enter your name and local address into our system. You are then allowed up to 21 days of service a year.

All Rapid fixed route buses are accessible to individuals with disabilities. They all have low floors so individuals with mobility impairments can get on and off the buses easily. The Silver Line BRT buses are at level boarding platforms so that mobility aides can roll right on. All buses have voice enunciators to announce major intersections and transfer points.
