Meeting Norms: Materials to bring to meeting: Course standards We will start/end on time. Estimated Minutes Time Opening: Review norms; Assign recorder to take and Amy/Joh 3 minutes submit minutes, Assign time keeper, etc. n -Review questions and concerns from last meeting All 10 minutes -As a group we discussed cross PLC questions -Looked at what the potential topics for our group could be in the future, and the direction our PLC wanted to take -Reviewed that more information will be coming out for cross district PLC’s so watch email for future information -Review and compare standards All 25 minutes -Chris stated that in all of our areas safety is huge, so we need to stress safety and make sure we are working with students to keep all of our hands on work safe -John, Chris, Diana -Web Design was crossing over between Bill and John, Bill is now going to drop this so it does not become a repeat for students -Diana does some web design with middle school-this is a foundation that needs to be set for all of the computer/design classes taught -Dennis -Discussion was had on his current welding class -Questions posed were: Why do our students not build large items? Why do other districts have such a large program? -Dennis -Discussion about landscaping class being offered again -We talked about the potential for the students and options of what they could do within the community -Work on creating essential outcomes for our PLC All 5 minutes -We discussed that as we write our essential outcomes they need to be focused on lifelong skills -We are teaching students to be better individuals in our society in the future, and as a PLC we need to find ways to do this within our classroom -We want to always be promoting problem solving in our classrooms, so they know how to solve situations that may face them in the future -For the next meeting review standards and bring the general standards we want to pull into our essential outcomes (focusing on an overview of all areas of our PLC) -Wrap up meeting with recap/review Amy 2 minutes -Recapped what we talked about with the essential outcomes -Reminded everyone to review standards so that we can work on essential outcomes in the future Create agenda for our next PLC Amy

Expectations for Agendas and Minutes: Agendas: should be given to all team members at least a day in advance. should include goals or expected outcomes. should include specific topics for discussion with estimated times listed. should include meeting norms agreed upon by team. should use the format shown above. Minutes: should be typed in the minutes column of the agenda. should be emailed to all PLC participants within 2 days. should be read by all PLC participants. When tracked-out staff return, they should read minutes from all missed meetings. Email or hand-deliver completed meeting notes to building principal.
