Award-Winning Author and Editor Janet Bodnar to Emcee Jump$tart Coalition Annual Awards Dinner

Honorees include Cordray, Stivers, Daniels and Maine Jump$tart

WASHINGTON, March 10, 2014…The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy® announced today that nationally recognized expert on children’s & family finances, Janet Bodnar, will emcee its annual awards dinner on April 8, 2014 at the Renaissance Washington DC hotel. Since 2009, Ms. Bodnar has also served as the editor of Kiplinger's Personal Finance.

The Jump$tart Coalition honorees this year include: Richard Cordray, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and U.S. Representative Steve Stivers (R- OH-15) who will receive Jump$tart's 2014 Federal Leadership Awards.

The coalition will also recognize Theodore R. Daniels, founder and president of the Society for Financial Education and Professional Development, with the 2014 William E. Odom Visionary Leadership Award. Maine Jump$tart will receive the 2014 State Coalition of the Year Award, at the gala.

1 Jump$tart's annual awards dinner recognizes extraordinary contributions to the U.S. financial literacy effort. The event brings together 300 leaders in the field from across the country to celebrate Financial Literacy Month, network, and pay tribute to the honorees. This year's theme, Stand Up for Financial Literacy! underscores the community's resolute commitment to financial education, especially for youth.
