13th WORLD SQUASH REFEREEING CONFERENCE

Moving Forward

10 -11 December 2015 Marriott Hotel, Cairo, Egypt

INTRODUCTION

The World Squash Federation, in conjunction with the Egyptian Squash Federation, is holding the 13th World Squash Refereeing Conference on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December 2015 in Cairo, Egypt.

Cairo is a vibrant, exotic, fascinating and welcoming city. Home to the best Pharaonic, Coptic and Islamic sights in Egypt, this city is where you never know what incredible, half-forgotten monument you might stumble across while wandering around. Enjoy the Nile view from your hotel room balcony, visit the capital's medieval markets, walk down the Nile promenade or visit one of the many modern shopping malls. You’ll get to see the Giza Pyramids, thousands of ancient artefacts in the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities and much more. - See more at: http://en.egypt.travel/city/index/cairo#sthash.xrez0WJf.dpuf

THE THEME

The theme of the Conference is Moving Forward and it is aimed at the ever changing environment of both developmental and practical refereeing.

Focus will primarily be centred on:  How the WSF can support both Regional Federations and established/emerging Member Nations with their own refereeing programmes  The journey of a keen aspiring Referee and the various interventions required in order to attain referee - ing competence at the highest Level.

As such there will be:  A series of Workshops and Seminars aimed at Member Nations inviting them to review and revise their current referee programme to see where the WSF can provide support in key areas such as Referee re- cruitment, training, deployment, retraining and sustainability.  A series of Workshops and Seminars aimed at developing Referees in the modern game – discussing the various innovative and practical methods now available to analyse and improve performance at all levels.

This is an excellent opportunity for Regional and National Federations to recognise and share best/good practice.
