Evidence Based Practices Policy Team Meeting Notes from February 78, 2007 Meeting
Policy Team Mission Statement: To provide leadership that promotes and sustains the statewide use of Evidence Based Practices.

The group talked to Harley on how they are frustrated with the issue of implementation of methods to provide training jointly and also briefly talked to Harley regarding how to get EBP Policy Team members to commit to showing up and participating.

Oran group met in January – they committed to having a lot of training and you can go to the EBP website to probably find that. Sub-Committee EBP Training Work Group Update Reports Proposal: Change focus from how to deliver statewide trainings, to creating more guidelines about what kind of EBP trainings there are, identifying the characteristics of good quality EBP training, and trying to make sure the training is done well.
Discussion of that proposal included Carol handing out a little handout for the Team to look at using; it has not been completely vetted by MACCAC yet. It is based upon NIJ model of the level of research from “dirt” all the way to “gold standard”. It is specifically for adults. Team asked MACCAC to modify it for juveniles.

Look for Sue’s e-mailed training announcements and for the trainings to be listed on the EBP website and also the DOC website’s “Training Opportunities – EBP”.

Carol gave the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner the MACCAC drafted handout of the different implementation levels (“gold standard”, etc.) and explained it.
