School Library Circulation Policy 2015

Borrowing Routine  Students are permitted to borrow books during their library lesson each week or at lunchtimes.  Students borrow from the ‘Circulation Desk, located in the library, using their own name  A library bag for students from kindergarten to year 4 is required. Students in years 5-6 are expected to take responsibility for the careful handling of books placed into their school bag  Children with overdue books will not be permitted to borrow

Borrowing Limits The following limits are at the discretion of the teacher librarian, classroom teacher and caregivers.  Students may borrow up to two books weekly, in order to develop a regular borrowing and returning routine.

Returning Books are due to be returned or renewed one week after borrowing. It is the responsibility of all students to place their books in the returns slot when classes visit the library or during lunchtimes.

Overdue books Library books are overdue when they are not returned one week after borrowing. A reminder will be given verbally at this time. If the book is not returned within 2 weeks, an overdue notice will be issued to the student. Please note it is the responsibility of the family to search for an overdue book. Students with an overdue book will not be permitted to borrow until either:  The book is returned to the library; or  A replacement cost has been paid to the office. Books with a replacement value of zero will incur a $5.00 fee for purchasing of similar resource ------School Library Circulation Policy 2015
