Novel Animation

For our next project you will be creating an animation about a novel or book that you have read. You can work with a partner as long as you have both read the same book. There will be no groups of 3.

If you work with a partner, you must both be working every single day. There will be no, “I worked on the project yesterday, so he has to work on it today.” If you do this, then will be split up and need to work separately.

1) With your partner, choose a book or novel that you have both read.

2) Go to GoAnimate.com or Domo Animate – it’s your choice.

Part 1: Animation of the Story

____ Re-Tell the story in your own words (paraphrase) ____ Include 5 of your favorite quotes from the book (use quotations) ____Every scene needs animations ____Include music and transitions ____Sources/Resources page at the end so you can cite your book ____100 complex sentences (you can use simple sentences, but they don’t count)

Simple Sentence: I am sad. Complex Sentence: I was feeling upset the other day after my friends left.

There are about 10 words in a sentence, so 100 sentences = 1000 words. This is the same as two pages typed, split between two people, is really not so bad.

Part 2: Your Reaction to the Story

____ What were your favorite and least favorite parts? Why? ____ Set this part up as an animated dialogue between you and your partner ____ 20 complex sentences ____ Every scene needs animations Embedding your Animation on Wix [ These directions are for Domo Animate, but it is very similar for Go Animate ]

1) Save your animation and make sure you save it as Public

2) Then, click the Embed button at the bottom of your animation

3) Copy the Embed Code at the top of the screen

4) In Wix, Click the “Plus” button on the left, click “Apps” and click “HTML”

5) Click on the new box, and under the settings change the mode to HTML Code

5) Paste your code from the animation in the empty box and then click “Update” 6) Remember, your Wix page will need to have 6 things before you turn it in.

1. This should be under the “Other Projects” page

2. You need to put the animation on your page and on your partner’s page.

3. You need a title at the top of the page

4. You need 5 Sentences about the project (what did we do, likes, dislikes)

5. You need to have the animation embedded on the page

6. You need to copy and paste the class standards (below) to your page.
