1.4 SUBMITTALS

1.4.1 Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.

1.4.2 Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets for each system type specified, including but not limited to: 1.4.2.1 Performance characteristics. 1.4.2.2 Preparation instructions and recommendations. 1.4.2.3 Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 1.4.2.4 Installation methods. 1.4.2.5 Cleaning methods.

1.4.3 Shop Drawings: Submit fabricator's shop drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, indicating dimensions, types and tolerances, anchorage, attachment and relationship with adjacent construction.

1.4.4 Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.5.1 Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 5 year experience manufacturing similar products.

1.5.2 Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 year experience installing similar products.

1.5.3 System Support Information: Manufacturer shall have documented design performance information including duct sizing, vent and orifice location, vent and orifice sizing, length, and suspension. Parameters for design, including maximum air temperature, velocity, pressure and fabric permeability, shall be tested and documented.

1.6 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS

1.6.1 Convene minimum two weeks prior to starting work of this section.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.7.1 Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation.

1.7.2 Handling: Handle materials to avoid damage.

1.8 23 31 00-2 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.8.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.9 SEQUENCING

1.9.1 Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

1.10 WARRANTY

1.10.1 Manufacturer's Warranty Requirements: Warranty precedent upon airflow and static pressure per original DuctSox design in accordance with published requirements. Warranty shall be based on inlet velocities up to 1600 FPM (8.12m/s). For SkeleCore FTS, a 10 year warranty shall be available for inlet velocities up to 2000 FPM (10.16m/s).

1.10.2 Suspension/Fabric Retention Systems: 1.10.2.1 Fabric Tensioning System (FTS): Maximum 20 years with Sedona-Xm and TufTex fabrics. 1.10.2.2 Pull-Tight Tensioning System: Maximum 15 years with Sedona-Xm and TufTex fabrics. 1.10.2.3 Fabric Tensioning System (FTS): Maximum 15 years with Verona and Duratex fabrics. 1.10.2.4 Pull-Tight Tensioning System: Maximum 15 years with Verona and Duratex fabrics.

2.3 SOUND ATTENUATOR

2.3.1 Test reports: The laboratory method used in conduction these tests in accordance with ASTM Standard E477-2013. Sound pressure level data obtained using a Bruel and Kjar Pulse Analyzer.

2.3.2 Acoustical performance data shall be submitted for both dynamic insertion loss and generated noise values for octave band frequencies from 63Hz to 8000Hz.

2.3.3 Sound testing to be completed by a NVLAP acoustical testing service accredited third party laboratory.

2.3.4 Material meets the flame and smoke development of NFPA 90-A of less than 25 flame and less than 50 smoke development when tested in accordance with ASTM E84.

2.3.5 System shall include full 360 degree tension rings with quick connection spacer tubes concealed inside the fabric attenuator.

2.3.6 Cylindrical ring on each side shall require a vertical metal to metal cable safety attachment.

2.3.7 Available for diameters from 12 inches to 30 inches (305 mm to 762 mm).

2.3.8 Attenuator shall have a 5 year warranty.

2.3.9 Shop drawings to include thickness, pressure losses, and connection details.

2.4 SUSPENSION/FABRIC RETENTION SYSTEMS:

2.4.1 Product: Skelecore as manufactured by DuctSox Corporation.

2.4.2 Fabric Tensioning System (FTS): 2.4.2.1 Standard: 8 inches to 48 inches diameter (203 mm to 1,219 mm). 2.4.2.2 Jumbo Series: 50 inches to 100 inches diameter (1,270 mm to 2540 mm). 2.4.2.3 Design: 0% Deflation. No inflation noise. No fabric motion.

2.5 FABRIC TENSIONING SYSTEM: SkeleCore FTS.

2.5.1 Air diffusers shall be constructed with internal tensioning frame.

2.5.2 System shall cylindrically tension textile along the entire length of textile duct, including all fittings (crosses, elbows, reducers and tees).

2.5.3 Tensioning system shall include full 360 degree tensioning and intermediate rings with quick connection spacer tubes concealed inside the fabric system.

2.5.4 Interior structure to include multiple mechanically adjustable tension devices. To provide proper textile tensioning, structural and textile system shall be configured in segments of no more than 45 feet.

2.5.5 Textile components supported solely by metal cylindrical rings.

2.5.6 Each cylindrical ring shall require a vertical metal to metal cable safety attachment.

2.5.7 Vertical supports are Galvanized steel with available lengths of 5 feet (1524 mm) (standard), 10

2.5.8 Available for diameters from 8 inches to 84 inches (203 mm to 2134 mm).

2.5.9 Pull-Tight Tensioning System: 2.5.9.1 Track or Cable: 8 inches to 60 inches diameter (203 mm to 1524 mm). 2.5.9.2 Design: 1% Deflation. No inflation noise. No fabric motion.

2.6 SkeleCore PULL-TIGHT SYSTEM:

2.6.1 Air diffusers shall be constructed with both internal retention and external tensioning.

2.6.2 System shall consist of internal tensioning baskets with cable or track stops that externally tension the system off of the suspension system selected below along with 360 degree internal retention hoops that are spaced 5 feet (1524 mm) on center between tensioning baskets.

2.6.3 Tensioning baskets are designed to self-lock when tension is applied to the system.

2.6.4 All straight sections utilize both internal retention hoops and external tensioning with the use of the tension baskets, all fittings (crosses, elbows, reducers, and tees) utilize internal retention hoops.

2.6.5 Distance between consecutive tensioning baskets shall not be more than 40 feet (12,192 mm).

2.6.6 System shall be installed with a one row suspension system located 1.5 inches (38 mm) above top-dead-center of the textile system.

2.6.7 System attachment to cable or U-Track shall be made using Gliders spaced no further than 12 inches (305 mm) apart.

2.6.8 Available for diameters from 8 inches to 60 inches (203 mm to 1524 mm).

2.6.9 Not available for natatorium applications.

2.6.10 One row suspension options (must specify if multiple on same project)

2.7 Hoops (IHS) System: Air diffusers shall be constructed with internal retention system.

2.7.1 System shall consist of an internal 360 degree hoop system, spaced 5 feet (1524 mm) on center.

2.7.2 System shall be installed with a one row suspension system located 1.5 inches (38 mm) above top-dead-center of the textile system.

2.7.3 System attachment to cable or U-Track shall be made using Gliders spaced 12 inches (305 mm).

2.7.4 Available for diameters from 8 inches to 60 inches (203 mm to 1524 mm).

2.8 Hanger Suspension: Air diffusers shall be constructed with multipoint suspension system.

2.8.1 3x1 Hanger Suspension;

2.8.2 System shall include a three row connection to fabric system at 10, 12, and 2 o'clock locations.

2.8.3 Powder-coated aluminum hangers are secured and connected to a one row suspension system every 3 feet (914 mm) and connect to the fabric system at the 10 and 2 o'clock locations with detachable D-Clasps.

2.8.4 The fabric system will also have intermediate Gliders located at 12 o'clock and between the hangers to attach directly to the one row suspension system located 3 inches (76 mm) (cable) or 4.5 inches (114 mm) (U-Track) above top-dead-center location of the fabric system.

2.8.5 Available for diameters from 8 inches to 48 inches (203 mm to 1219 mm).

2.9 Tension Cable:

2.9.1 One Row Cable: 2.9.1.1 Systems shall be installed 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) above top-dead-center. Textile system attachment to cable shall be made using Gliders spaced every 24 inches (610 mm). Available for systems less than 32 inches (813 mm) diameter. Available for systems less than 32 inches (813 mm) diameter. 2.10 U-Track;

2.10.1 One Row U-Track: 2.10.1.1 Systems shall be installed 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) above top-dead-center. Textile system attachment to cable shall be made using Gliders spaced every 24 inches (610 mm). Available for systems less than 32 inches (813 mm) diameter. 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.1.1 Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

3.1.2 If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

3.2.1 Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

3.2.2 Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Install dispersion and suspension system in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, approved submittals and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.

3.4 CLEANING AND PROTECTION

3.4.1 Cleaning: Clean external surfaces of foreign substances that may cause corrosive deterioration of facing. If diffuser systems become soiled during installation, they shall be removed and cleaned following the manufacturers standard terms of laundry.

3.4.2 Protect installed products from damage during construction.

3.4.3 Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
