Talk About an Awesome Challenge!

Dear [insert name],

Talk about an awesome challenge!

In June, myself and three team mates will be walking [50km / 100km] to raise money and awareness for Oxfam Japan. The event is the Oxfam Trailwalker. It begins at Dake Onsen in Fukushima, heads up and over Mt. Adatara (1728m) first with a stunning view and then winds around the highlands through challenging forest trails [100km: , then rising up and over Mt. Hitaitoriyama to try and break us] before coming full circle again finishing at Dake Onsen.

Teams of four enter this event and have [24 hours / 48 hours] to walk or run the [50km / 100km] trail together, although our team is hoping to finish in [insert target time]. It’s very likely that we’ll walk through the night (with little or no sleep) enduring until the end. The event raises vital funds for Oxfam Japan. Oxfam is an independent, secular, non-government organization working in more than 28 countries and since 2003 in Japan.

My team [insert your team name] is hoping to raise well over [insert your $ fundraising target] to help some of the world’s poorest people but also those people suffering from disasters right here in Japan like the Kumamoto Earthquake of 2016 and continued support for the Tohoku region after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Our fundraising enables Oxfam to continue its work delivering projects that support long term development by empowering those involved in small business activities in developing countries to become economically independent. Furthermore, Oxfam uses the funds for its Advocacy Campaigns to champion the Disparity/Global Poverty issue by promoting awareness, working with the United Nations to guide countries on implementing the Sustainable Development Goal 2030 Initiative and in Japan conducting the College Student Leader Development Program or CHANGE Initiative to allow students to collaborate building their motivation to realize a world without poverty.

My Oxfam Trailwalker team, [insert your team member’s names] and I will be going the distance and we hope that you can support us in this massive challenge. Please consider how you may be able to get behind us, either by sponsoring us directly or by sharing our journey (and TeamSpace) with your contacts. If you would like to sponsor us, please follow the link: [insert the link to your teamspace.] Any contribution is helpful and brings us closer to our goal.

The work that Oxfam does is vital to so many people here in Japan and across the globe. The distance of [50km / 100km] is an excruciatingly long way to walk! But putting ourselves through months of intense training, overcoming the challenge together as a team will make it well worth it for the positive impact our fundraising will have on those in need throughout Oxfam Japan’s programs.

We ask you to please give generously and consider that your donation will make a real difference.

Thank you!
