Country Project Guidelines - Photostory

You must turn in a Photo story presentation.

Use the CIA World Factbook for most of fact information. Do not copy and paste (C&P) from the website to your presentation unless stated otherwise. Read it, think about it and put it in your own words. Use only one fact per slide. You may use Wikipedia for food. You will have to search the Web for the Most Pressing Issue. Is your country in the news right now? Why? You must have music on the country information part (you may record yourself also if you like)

Your report must contain all of the following:

1. A map of your country. If your country is an island, include a map regional map also. (C&P) 2. A copy of the county’s flag (C&P) 3. Relative location – where on the continent is your country located? (Include continent name.) 4. Absolute location (29N, 95W) 5. Surrounding countries 6. Land mass in square miles or kilometers and as a comparison to something in the US 7. List the major landforms in your country – are there mountains, major rivers, desert, plains regions, What does your country look like physically? 8. Current population 9. Life expectancy 10. Include whether or not the country is gaining or losing population and the growth rate 11. Literacy rate – broken down between men and women 12. The 2 most frequently spoken languages and the percentage of each 13. The 2 largest ethnic groups present and the percentage of each 14. The 2 largest religions present and the percentage of each 15. Types of food eaten (Google for this) 16. Type of currency used – give the name, show a picture of it and give the US $ exchange rate 17. Economic base – give percents involved in agriculture, services, manufacturing, high tech, etc 18. Type of government – democracy, monarchy, communism, 19. Name of Chief of State (King, Queen, President, Prime Minister, etc) 20. Most pressing issue facing the country right now, either health, economic, natural disaster, etc. 21. Write a short summary of your country’s history. This should be no less than 6 and no more than 10 sentences. Include dates of independence, if they were ever occupied by a foreign country, if they ever played a major role in a war or conflict, why they were colonized, etc. DO NOT C&P!
