Route 66… Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Special guest Scott Piotrowski is an author and photographer who has been active in the preservation and promotion of Route 66. He began his work in 1996 when he first traveled the historic highway while moving to Los Angeles from his native Ohio.

His first experience traveling the highway led him to realize the highway’s importance. Since then, he has proceeded to direct a non-fiction short film about the highway’s longest remaining continuous stretch, in western Arizona. And he has written the only guidebook to detail the Mother Road’s paths through Los Angeles County. Since then, his love of the road less traveled has taken him to the Lincoln Highway, Pacific Coast Highway, and many other historic roads as well.

Piotrowski has photographed much of Route 66 and the other old highways he has traveled. He will be sharing not only some of his favorite photographs, but some of his favorite stories as well. So come join us as we take a journey from Chicago to Los Angeles and beyond on the back roads of America.
