The Napoleonic Imperial Eagle of the 45eme de la ligne Limited Edition gilt replica

As a part of the bicentenary commemoration of the Battle of Waterloo, Hare & Humphreys Ltd, Her Majesty The Queen’s Decorators & Gilders were granted access to carefully carry out multiple 3D scans of the original captured eagle of Napoleon Bonaparte’s Elite Imperial 45th Infantry from its resting place in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Museum at Edinburgh Castle

From the resulting scans the master craftsmen of Hare & Humphreys created 2 exact replicas of the eagle taken by Sergeant Ewart of the Scot Greys during the battle, which were subsequently used at the official bicentenary commemorations in Belgium, Scotland and England. These eagles will remain the property of the RSDG Museum and the East India Club in St. James’s London.

In commemoration of this historic event Hare & Humphreys have further committed to produce a bespoke limited edition of 100 reduced-size gilded replicas for the private collector.
