EMPIRE EXPANSION (Period 7) GOOD (Pros) BAD (Cons)  Romans overpowered the  Plebeians were forced to fight Etruscans – gained control of in the army Rome  Prisoners had to pay Roman  J. Caesar came to power – taxes made positive changes by  Romans sold Carthaginians into giving people work and slavery building public  Armies destroyed thousands of  Gained more cultures/ideas farms into their Empire  Didn’t have a good food supply  Gained more wealth and land due to farmland being  Carthaginians lost power in the destroyed Medi.  Many Roman citizens lost their  Gladiators were used to work jobs because slaves took them – and provide entertainment many were forced to join the army  Gained more trade in the Medi.  Pompey became really Basin powerful – caused infighting in  Rome controlled the largest the Roman Army region in the known world  Republic falls apart (Medi.)  Innocent people (a lot of them)  Obtained a lot more resources were killed  Library, police force,  Caesar takes total power – firefighters (Oct.) dictatorship  Rome had POWER!
