Statement of Recognition of Penrith City’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Council values the unique status of Aboriginal people as the original owners and custodians of lands and waters, including the land and waters of Penrith City. Council values the unique status of Torres Strait Islander people as the original owners and custodians of the Torres Strait Islands and surrounding waters. We work together for a united Australia and City that respects this land of ours, that values the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage, and provides justice and equity for all. PRAYER “Sovereign God, tonight as we gather together as a Council we affirm that you are the giver and sustainer of life. We come together as representatives of our community to make decisions that will benefit this city and the people within it. We come not in a spirit of competition, not as adversaries, but as colleagues. Help us to treat each other with respect, with dignity, with interest and with honesty. Help us not just to hear the words we say, but also to hear each others hearts. We seek to be wise in all that we say and do. As we meet, our concern is for this city. STATEMENT OF RECOGNITION His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Greg Davies read a statement of recognition of Penrith City’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage.     ' Annual Report 2011 * !"(! " - $% *. ! "!$% ++ !# "&$% +, ! PaddleNSW 2011 Annual Report 1 ( OVERVIEW PaddleNSW has now completed its third year of operation as an association. It has been an amazing journey of growth, both in membership numbers and services to members. While most of our activities have been conducted behind the scenes, some have had a more direct effect on members. For the first time, we were able to source a provider of very cost effective boat insurance, and coupled this with our membership renewals process to give our members some added value to their membership. We actively engaged the IT world in creating a new website to be unveiled at the 2011 AGM. We started the year on a sound financial footing, due to our earlier restrained expenditure and the contribution of many volunteer hours by the management committee. Primary expenditure this year involved the payment of AC affiliation fees and the employment of a paid staff, initially for 16 hrs / week. Additional administration assistance was sourced for several projects, especially those of education development and membership processing, taking our combined office hours up to 38 hrs / week. See ‘personnel’. Commencing this year, PaddleNSW has actively developed the ‘Paddle Australia’ event sanctioning process. It provides organisations new to paddling an opportunity to conduct events with the guarantee of event quality through guidance by the State Association and Australian Canoeing. Several very successful events have been held in diverse locations throughout the state, and the process is opening up new opportunities for PaddleNSW to extend its sphere of influence. Some Paddlesports Technical Committees, in particular Marathon and Open Water, have excelled at promoting and developing their area of paddlesports.

    sloka 2010 Svetovno prvenstvo v kajak kanu slalomu Ljubljana 7. – 12.9. 2010 a.si lok w.s ww POKROVITELJI MEDIJSKI POKROVITELJI Spoštovani udeleženci in obiskovalci svetovnega prvenstva v slalomu na divjih vodah! ast se je družiti z najboljšimi. Najboljšimi kajakaši in kanuisti, ki prihajate s celega sveta. Ni Čjih večjih mojstrov divje vode, kakor ste vi. Ravno zato smo na Kajakaški zvezi Slovenije še kako ponosni, da že v tretje gostimo najboljše krotilce brzic na svetu. Najboljši tekmovalci si zaslužijo tudi najboljše gledalce in ti so v Tacnu stalnica. Navijaške sku- pine, ki jih v našem športu odlikujeta športno obnašanje in medsebojno prijateljstvo, so tacenski ponos, ki predstavljajo za vsakega izmed tekmovalcev, ki tekmujejo na prvenstvu, nepozabno izkušnjo. Najboljši tekmovalci si zaslužijo tudi najboljšo organizacijo. Za to smo poskrbeli skupaj z neumornimi in vedno pripravljenimi prostovoljci, ki jim gre največja zahvala. Žal nam trenutna situacija ni dovoljevala večjih posegov in investicij, to ostaja naš dolg in upamo, da bomo lahko to uredili v naslednjih letih. A vendar upam, da smo pripravili svetovno prvenstvo, ki bo ostalo v lepem spominu vsem ude- ležencem. Nepozabno po dobrem in sproščenem vzdušju, nepozabno zaradi izkazane gosto- ljubnosti in nepozabno po novih prijateljstvih, ki bodo tu sklenjena in bodo trajala še dolgo po zaključku prvenstva v Ljubljani. Daljnega leta 1955 so se na progi v Tacnu prvič zbrali najboljši kajakaši in kanuisti. Prijateljstvo je vodilo, zaradi katerega bo v naslednjih dneh kar nekaj udeležencev prvega svetovnega prvenstva ponovno prišlo v Tacen. Leta 1991 je kajakaše pričakal Tacen v modernejši podobi. Tekmovanja, ki jih je z užitkom sloka 2010 Svetovno prvenstvo v kajak kanu slalomu spremljalo več tisoč ljudi, so bila - naj povem kot zanimivost - zadnja v takratni državi Jugoslaviji.

    2015 ICF CANOE SLALOM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT PREVIEWS Women’s K1 16 September - Heats 19 September - Semifinals / Finals - Jessica Fox (AUS) hopes to retain her 2014 world title and become the third woman to win the K1 at back-to-back world championships. - The only women who have won successive world titles in the K1 are Ludmilla Polesna (TCH) in 1961- 1963 and in 1967-1969 and Corinna Kuhnle (AUT) in 2010-2011. - Kuhnle can become the second woman to win at least three K1 world titles after Polesna (4 titles). Stepanka Hilgertová (CZE) can also achieve this feat as she was victorious in 1999 and 2003. - Kuhnle can give Austria its sixth gold medal in this event at the world championships, most of all countries if East Germany, West Germany and Germany are calculated separately as well as Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia. - Hilgertová can equal Polesna on a record five total medals at the world championships in this event. She last claimed a medal in 2007, finishing third. - Reigning European champion Maialen Chourraut (ESP) can give Spain its first gold medal in this event. Spain have won one silver medal (2009, Chourraut) and one bronze medal (2011, Chourraut) in women’s K1 at the world championships. - No woman has yet won the world title as well as the European title in the same year in the K1. - Emilie Fer (FRA) can win her second world title as reigning Olympic champion as she won the world title in 2013. She can become the second woman to win two world titles as reigning Olympic champion in the K1 following Stepanka Hilgertová (CZE).

Schornberg/Becker gewinnen Gold im Zweiercanadier-Mixed. Hannes Aigner holt Bronze im Kajak der Herren. Bereits am Samstag hatte der Augsburger Sideris Tasiadis Gold für das deutsche Team eingefahren. Der Weltcup-Titelverteidiger landete im dritten Saisonrennen seinen zweiten Sieg und lag am Ende knappe 71 Hundertstelsekunden vor Vizeweltmeister Alexander Slafkovsky aus der Slowakei. Slafkovsky führt mit diesem Ergebnis die Weltcup-Gesamtwertung mit 165 Punkten vor Tasiadis mit 144 Punkten an. Im Rennen der Kajak-Damen verpasste Ricarda Funk als Vierte das Podium um 63 Hundertstelsekunden. Erneut hatte die Australierin Jessica Fox ihre Ausnahmeposition unterstrichen. Die Weltmeisterin feierte ihren dritten Sieg in Folge und verwies die Britin Mallory Franklin um satte 6,46 Sekunden auf Rang zwei. Dritte wurde Eva Tercelj (Slowenien). Funk belegt aktuell in der Weltcup-Gesamtwertung mit 149 Zählern Rang zwei hinter der mit 180 Punkten führenden Australierin. In der neuen olympischen Disziplin der Damen-Einercanadier belegte die Augsburgerin Elena Apel beim Sieg der Australierin Jessica Fox Rang fünf. Fox gewann trotz einer Stangenberührung ihr drittes Weltcupgold im Einercanadier und ist mit insgesamt je drei Siegen im Kajak wie im Einercanadier unangefochten die erfolgreichste Sportlerin der diesjährigen Weltcupserie. Die erst 18-jährige Andrea Herzog (Leipzig) kenterte im Finale und belegte Rang zehn. Im letzten Rennen des Heimweltcups fuhr Lokalmatador Hannes Aigner mit einem fehlerfreien Lauf die Bronzemedaille ein. Der Sieg ging an den zweimaligen Weltmeister Peter Kauzer (Slowenien).
