Re: Optional MVHS Baseball Player Apparel Orders
Each year, the Mounds View Diamond Club works with an outfitter (All-Star Sports) to provide apparel for the boys planning to play baseball for one of the school teams. Families can certainly order any of the items for relatives or friends as well.
All of this is totally OPTIONAL. There is no expectation on my part for you to order any of the apparel.
The Captains have completed the selection and design for the apparel.
The Captains have selected and designed the following items: 3/4 length Performance Shirt Performance Athletic Shorts with Pockets Performance Hooded Sweatshirt – Comes with Name (You can opt for no name). Can be optionally personalized with number. Performance Pants with Pockets – Can be optionally personalized with number. If you don’t specify a number on the order form, it will come with a MV instead. Majestic Performance Pullover – Comes with Name (You can opt for no name). Can be optionally personalized with number.
Player apparel samples are available at school in the equipment room. Players that want to see the samples can see me right after school in the Commons, and I will take them back to the Equipment Room. Or, during Captains Practice, the Captains and Adult Supervisors can provide the samples to anyone interested.
The link to order apparel: http://www.allstarsportsinc.com/mounds-view-baseball-2014/. The password is MVBB2014 (all caps).
All items are sold at cost; the Diamond Club makes no money.
There will be two chances to order apparel:
An early order period ending Sunday, February 9.
A second order period, after teams are chosen, ending Sunday, March 30.
Apparel will be delivered 3-4 weeks from the order deadline to me at school and I will distribute the apparel to the players. It is just fine to order some apparel during the early order period and also some during the second order period.
One frequently asked question is how to deal with the fact that in high school baseball, cuts have to be made. And, uniforms (numbers) are not provided until after teams are selected and uniforms are distributed. “I would prefer to order early so I receive the apparel before the season instead of during the season with the second order period, but what if my son doesn’t make a team? And, we don’t know my son’s uniform number at this time.” You can certainly wait for the 2nd order period. You can early order and not personalize with a number for those items that have the option to personalize with a number. You can early order any items you want that have no number personalization, and order those items that are number personalized in the second order period. Regarding Uniform Numbers: There is one set of uniforms for Varsity/JV, another unique set for the Sophomore Team, and a 3rd unique set for the Freshman Team. There will be some returning varsity players that do know their number. Here is how uniform numbers will work for returning Varsity/JV players: 1. For any player on the Varsity/JV last year, if they had a number from last year that they want again this year, it is theirs again this year. 2. For any remaining Varsity/JV jersey numbers, Seniors will select jerseys first, Juniors second, and any sophomores third.
Any questions, please let me know. And, you can also direct any specific apparel questions to Paul Norman at All-Star Sports: [email protected] or 612-799-2098.
