2012/2013

AVID Enrollment: We currently have 249 students and are projected to have over 450 students next year; meaning AVID will make up over 17% of the population at VDL in 2013/2014.

AVID Retention: The amount of seniors who have been in AVID at least 3 years increased to 53%.

CAHSEE: We increased our pass rates in ELA from 77% to 92% and in Math from 85% to 90%. Our proficiency rates increased this year in ELA from 25% to 52% and Math from 34% to 56%. There were 2 perfect scores in both ELA and Math.

College Tests: Juniors continue to have 100% participation for PSAT and 95% for the SAT. Seniors have 100% participation for the SAT and ACT. Sophomores had 95% participation for PSAT.

AP/Honors Classes: The percent of students taking honors and AP classes continues to increase at every grade level and overall from 55% to 70%. AVID went from making up 15% of the total AP/Honors population last year to 30% this year.

AVID Senior Class: The AVID senior class only represents 0.7% of the senior population YET represents 20% of the top 50 seniors! The amount of seniors who have taken 3 or more AP classes went from7% to 44%.

College Acceptance Rates: This year’s senior class is the largest in VDL history AND has the highest college acceptance rate at 94%. UC and CSU acceptance rates also increased.
