In 2004, the Steven Kittleson Honorary Scholarship was established to honor former Principal Steven Kittleson. A student may receive the Steven Kittleson Honorary Scholarship or a Grafton Athletic Booster Club Scholarship, but not both. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize a student- athlete who best demonstrates the following qualities that Mr. Kittleson values:

Quiet Leadership – This is the ability to both lead and follow and allow the endeavor to take on a life of its own. This person does not desire to have the endeavor personified by the individuals who have completed the work. This is the type of individual that continues to work when no one is watching and does not require the individual recognition as a motivation to continue what they are doing. Quiet Integrity – This is the ability to stand up quietly and personally for what you believe. This is not a person that stands on a bandwagon giving lip service to a cause, but rather the type of person who will let their actions and hard work be the testament that will stand up to the tests of time. Quality Individual – This is the person that does the best that they can do each day and then the next day does just a little bit better. This person recognizes the intrinsic value of education and has a need to apply what has been learned without the promise of extrinsic rewards and acknowledgement and personally takes responsibility for their failures and successes. Honesty – Sincerity, truthfulness, openness, and candor guide this type of person’s actions as they lead, as they follow, and as they live their lives. The path is straightforward, the personal effort is incredible, the cause is not self-serving, and the road to completion is walked in full view of those who choose to judge. The path is walked for “Goodness sake”. Strives to Full Academic Ability – This is a person that works at their full academic potential. This may be an average student who has worked hard to reach their maximum ability level. Student Evaluation Form Grafton Athletic Booster Club - Steven Kittleson Honorary Scholarship
