Beef stew
Ingredients
1 1/2 lb. of stewing beef 1 tbsp. olive oil 1 chopped onion 1 toe minced garlic 1 can chopped tomato or fresh tomato 1/4 c. water 1 Cup of ½ tsp pepper 1/4 tsp. basil 1/4 tsp. thyme 1 c. or more of each carrot, celery, and potato
Directions: Brown beef in olive oil. Add garlic and onion. Sauté until transparent. Stir in soup, , and water. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes. Add herbs, ketchup, and vegetables. Cover and simmer about 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Stir often. Add more water if necessary. BBQ Sauce
Ingredients 1 Cup of 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar Finely chopped garlic 1/4 teaspoon cumin 1/4 teaspoon chipotle chili powder Thyme, rosemary
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, add olive oil, garlic, chipotle powder, and cumin. Simmer/stir for 5 minutes then add .
Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add in soy sauce, vinegar, thyme and rosemary. Simmer for 2 minutes more.
Remove from heat; allow to cool slightly before using.
Spead over chops or steaks. Chicken Marinade
This marinade is good all parts of the chicken. It can also be used as a basting sauce for rotisserie chicken or grilled turkey breasts.
Ingredients
2 1/5 cups of 1/2 cup olive oil 2 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar 4 scallions, sliced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated 1/4 c. onions, chopped 1/2 tsp. salt Piece of bay leaf Directions:
Combine ingredients. Shake well. Pour over the meat. Cover and turn 2-3 times during marinating period. Best if marinated overnight. Makes enough for 2lbs of meat.
Ice cream
Ingredients Vanilla ice cream ½ cup of Sultanas Dried figs Sliced dried almonds
How to make it Serve 3 scoops of vanilla ice-cream per person. Add sultanas, dried figs, sliced dried almonds and pour over a glass of Serve with a chilled glass of & Fruit
Ingredients 3 Cups of 1 cinnamon stick (3 inches) 8 whole cloves
Directions:
In a saucepan, combine, cinnamon stick , cloves & Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Strain liquid; discard cinnamon stick and cloves. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Serve this over assorted fruits like melon balls, fresh strawberries, blueberries, most any type of fruit.... Fruit Salad
