Season football records: 1922: 6-1 1924: 3-2-2 1928: 4-3-1 1930: 7-1-1 Dawson finished 6-0 in the league…good for 3rd place overall behind Mayfield & Owensboro 1932: 3-3-2 Dawson finished 7th out of 15 league teams 1933: 4-4-1 1934: 0- O. B. Springer, assistant Fletcher Holeman; finished last in the 17-team “Little Sixteen” Conference 1935: 0- last in the 18-team conference; and announced (at season’s end) it would drop football 1936 (no team) 1937: 2-2 1938: 4-5 Coach Fletcher Holeman; assistant Paul Stevens 1939: 4-6 1940: 2-7-1 finished 15th out of 20 in the Western Kentucky Conference 1941: 2-6 finished 15th out of 18 in the W.K.C. As of August, 1942, Paul Stevens was slated to be Dawson’s football coach...but World War II intervened, and Dawson joined several other schools in giving up the game “for the duration”...and never played another down.
