VA Announces Local “Town Hall” to Receive Veterans’ Comments

What: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Cheyenne Veterans Service Center, in Cheyenne, Wyoming is hosting a town hall for Veterans, family members, survivors and the public to provide feedback on VA operations and recommendations for VA programs. Media are invited to attend.

When: Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Media availability immediately after the Town Hall.

Where: Auditorium, Room BL-75, Buffalo Building, Cheyenne VA Medical Center, 2360 East Pershing Blvd, Cheyenne, WY 82001

Background: The town hall is one of many VA is holding around the country. The meetings are intended to provide local Veterans, their families and survivors a wide-open forum and for VA officials to hear directly from beneficiaries as a step toward improvement and to rebuild trust among Veterans.

The meeting is open to the public and the media, and VA is inviting Congressional stakeholders, Veteran Service Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, and other community partners.

The Denver Regional Office has jurisdiction over Colorado and Wyoming, and is one of 56 around the country whose focus is financial benefits for eligible Veterans and their families, such as disability compensation for service-related injuries or illnesses, pension for lower-income disabled and senior citizen Veterans and their survivors, as well as education, home loan and life insurance benefits.
