Responsible to: Central Mapping Manager

Main Purpose of Job: This is a fantastic opportunity to join our expanding Central Mapping team and assist with the creation, testing and continual improvement of postal rounds to support the future expansion of Whistl E2E project. The candidate will ideally have experience in GIS, preferably with experience of using ESRI ArcGIS and ArcCatalog software.

The Mapping Co-ordinator will be responsible for supporting the weekly cycle of output files to deliver to the wider operation including sort automation and outbound delivery team. They will need to interpret round feedback and incorporate this into the existing rounds as part of the continual improvement process. They will also assist in the initial set up and cleansing stages of new rounds within the software as part of the roll out plan.

This role will suit someone who has superb attention to detail and enjoys doing puzzles and working out the best way to perform tasks. The ability to pick up new software quickly is a significant benefit. The candidate must have a positive work ethic with a can do attitude and a keen attention to detail. Speed and accuracy are crucial aspects of the role so the candidate must demonstrate these qualities and be able to work to tight deadlines. They must be a self starter and learn tasks quickly to be able to work independently in a short space of time. Main Responsibilities: Round creation and Improvement support:

1. Creating postal rounds for new areas using RouteSmart software and optimizing routes to ensure they maximise efficiency and flow in a progressive and logical manner. 2. Ensure data cleansing within ArcGIS layers (street & service location) to ensure the highest accuracy of the base data 3. Applying round feedback from field testing team and making edits in RouteSmart based on the feedback received. 4. Updating existing live rounds with Ordnance Survey data modifications and updates.

1. Produce weekly output files including delivery instructions and round maps for postal operatives. 2. Produce Excel based feedback calculators and MO Tools for the test rounds in the new areas. 3. Liaising with the Lead Mapping Co-ordinator to ensure all documents are transferred and printed in time.

Mapping Team Support:

1. Liaising with the Delivery Unit Managers and Field Mapping team to ensure strong communication links with the outbound delivery network. 2. Maintain a strategic focus on the project timelines and ensure that fellow team members are supported in meeting required deadlines. 3. Assist with training and development of new recruits to bring them up to speed with the working practices and techniques of RouteSmart 4. Support all RouteSmart related documentation to ensure the manual is kept up to date with any user guidance notes
