Summer School Students & Parents

2018 Spring Orientation Tentative Schedule

8:00 a.m. Check-In Ballroom M, Colvard Student Union 2nd floor Check in to receive your Orientation packet, nametag, and schedule.

9:00 a.m. General Assembly Ballroom S & U, Colvard Student Union 2nd floor Enjoy the university’s welcome and an overview of the program schedule.

9:30 a.m. Registrar’s Session & Course Registration Ballroom S & U, Colvard Student Union 2nd floor Mississippi State University’s Registrar will provide a tutorial on class registration procedures. Meet with representatives from Mississippi State’s colleges and schools and register for spring courses. MSU staff members will escort students to their respective appointments.

10:00 a.m. Academic Advising & Course Scheduling Various Locations Admissions & Scholarships’ staff will escort students from the Foster Ballroom where they will meet with academic advisors within their respective major and register for spring classes. Faculty will be on hand to help students register for classes for the first time!

10:30 a.m. Parent Information Session Ballroom S & U, Colvard Student Union 2nd floor While your student is registering for classes, enjoy a question and answer session with the director of the Office of Parent Services regarding opportunities and services offered to MSU parents.

Events going on throughout the day:

7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Barnes & Noble at Mississippi State – Cullis Wade Depot We invite you to visit Mississippi State’s premier bookstore – Barnes & Noble at Mississippi State – within the Cullis Wade Depot. The ‘Depot’ is a 10 minute walk to the west of the Colvard Student Union, adjacent to Davis Wade Stadium. Along with general reading and textbook offerings, the ‘Depot’ also offers a full service Starbucks coffee shop.

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ID Cards – Campus Card Office, 108 Allen Hall Please have your MSU ID card made during this time.
