Report on the Celebration of English Week

KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA KATHUA (J&K) REPORT ON THE CELEBRATION OF ENGLISH WEEK (W.E.F: 22.08.2016 TO 27.08.2016)

As per letter No. 11029/10/2016/K.V.S (HQ) dated 09/08/2016, “English week” was organized by the English Department of K.V Kathua under celebration of Language Week from 22.08.2016 to 27.08.2016 which captured the interest of the student community. An array of events was conducted with the motive to enhance the vocabulary and language skill of the students. The English week started with a series of extracurricular activities, planned and organized each day of the week.

The week began with the Elocution competition which was held on 22nd of August, 2016. Students performed in two groups, first group includes the students from class VI – VIII and second group includes the students from class IX – X.

The next day i.e 23rd of August, 2016 dedicated to storytelling competition in which students from classes VI – VIII participated.

On 24th of August, 2016 Quiz competition was organized for classes VII – IX.

of 4 A group song competition was organized for classes VI – X on 26th of August, 2016.

The week ended on 27th of August, 2016 with essay writing competition that was organized for classes VI – VIII.

of 4 Students enthusiastically performed in all the activities. The week gave a platform to the students to showcase their talent. Participating in various competitions not only increased their knowledge bank but also boosted their self confidence.
