The Treaty of Versailles: Bitter Fruits

The armistices (cease-fire) ended World War I on November 11, 1918 at 11 a.m. The Treaty of Versailles was negotiated in January of 1919. This treaty ended a conflict that had killed over 8.5 million men and wounded over 21 million men. While this was suppose to be a lasting peace and “the war to end all wars,” the results of the treaty are said to have laid the seeds for World War II. The Germans especially felt a bitter sense of resentment at the results of the peace treaty.

Task: Please identify 10 specific terms of the treaty that cause resentment by the Germans. Please be specific with both the terms and why they caused bitterness. If you are talking about territorial losses by the Germans please identify them.
