Waiver: In consideration of your accepting my entry, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Student Dietetics Association and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event. *Entries will be accepted day of competition at the $10 fee, but that recipe will not be placed in the recipe booklet handout.

Rules and Requirements: • Must be ages 3-10 to participate • Create a healthy snack, fully prepared and ready to serve • Recipe must include at least 1/2 cup of any fruit or 1/2 cup of any vegetable • Recipe components must be complete and well written, see below for example (List ALL ingredients) • Have your snack plated for 5 judges. Judging will be based on plate presentation/appearance, taste, creativity, and inclusion of 1/2 cup fruit or vegetable • Please do not make any recipes that include nuts or nut derivatives, for the safety of any participants with food allergies • On the day of judging, a written copy of your recipe must be submitted with your snack • Email your recipes by March 18, 2011 to the following email: [email protected]. Sample Recipe: Awesome Applesauce

Prep Time: 10 minutes Serves: 2 Ingredients: 2 small red apples Serving Size: 1 bowl 2 Tbsp. lemon juice 2 tsp. sugar 2 pinches of cinnamon Directions: 1. Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. Throw out the core. 2. Put the apple pieces and lemon juice into a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture is very smooth. 3. Pour the mixture into 2 small bowls and stir in the sugar and cinnamon. 4. Enjoy your awesome applesauce!
