It came because of "a chance encounter between a straight athlete and an LGBT photographer. The photographer spoke about how many men felt like him — excluded from sport on the grounds of their sexuality or because there seemed to be no place for them within sport's deeply masculine culture,"

"Following on from that conversation, a group of mainly straight athletes committed to getting naked for a calendar with a specific message for LGBT+ men: we want to celebrate your sexuality and prove that you are welcome on our team!" Read more

The Legacy Of Getting Naked: The Road Not Taken

I’ve developed a fascination as of late, or perhaps more accurately, an obsession, with what I’ve labeled as the Legacy Nudist of America. This crusade of sorts began as a quest to visit the most renowned of these places over the past eight months, while our proclivity to join the ranks of social nudity were suddenly limited by the confines of a road trip. No more bouncing to Croatia or France for Nakation; time to explore our own backyard! I’ve not heard anyone else use the moniker of legacy in regard to naturist establish- ments, and in fact, I’m not quite sure how to define it myself. But I’m most fascinated with those early nudist camps established by (mostly) European pioneers before World War II. I’m thinking the likes of Solair Recreation League in Connecticut, or Skyfarm in New Jersey, or even Lake O’ the Woods Club in Indiana. A dead givea- way to the origin of a place is a name that fails to make any reference to nudi- ty whatsoever, supposedly obfuscating that awkward moment when the monthly newsletter arrived in your mailbox wrapped in brown paper with an innocuous return address. Josh Brolin Poses Nude While Sipping His Morning Coffee In Photo Taken by His Wife

Josh Brolin is baring it all.

On Tuesday, the 52-year-old actor posted a photo on Instagram of himself posing naked while casually sipping his morning coffee outside of a red RV.

In the snap, taken by his wife Kathryn Brolin, the nude Avengers: Endgame star sits on a chair while stretching his feet out to comfortably rest on a table with a beautiful desert backdrop. "At the end of the day a life will judged by how often you were naked,” he captioned the photo. “Nobody told they meant metaphorically.”

Josh received an array of entertaining comments on his post. Photographer Lee Jeffries wrote, "Never been so glad to see striped cushions...."

"Whoa big guy. What’s happening here ? You do have a nice quad ? said actor Frank Grillo, while director Taika Waititi commented three laughing emojis. Josh and Kathryn, who tied the knot in September 2016, are currently expecting their second child, due this month. The couple already shares 2-year-old daughter Westlyn Reign.

The 33-year-old entrepreneur announced her pregnancy in July, sharing a photo of herself baring her baby bump while posing outdoors with Westlyn. "The Brolins are a growin' !!" she wrote on Instagram. "Our little December babe is on the way Read more

3 A Symbol For Social Nudity

When we traveled through Greece, a couple of years ago, we met up with Ralf who owned a small naturist guesthouse near the coast. Ralf had moved there some years before from Germany with his family. For many Germans, nudity is about as natural as having a beer with a bratwurst. But the Greek culture is more conservative and Ralf adjusted to his surroundings. The beach down the road had a small secluded part behind a rock, and as naturists living under the Mediterranean sun, this was the per- fect spot for the family to go nude sunbathing and skinny dipping without disturbing anyone else.

When a local fisherman spotted the family one day and undressed as well, Ralf had an idea. Why not make this small stretch of warm sand a nude beach? He gathered some wood, made one of those typical signs with a crossed-out bikini, and put it in front of the large rock. A new nude beach was born. Until about a week later, when the sign was gone. Ralf didn’t just give up like that and the next day he painted the crossed-out bikini sign on the rock. But once again, not many days later somebody had sprayed graffiti over it.

Apparently, someone in town was not all too happy with this new nude beach. Read more

6 First Person | Growing Up With Nudists Michael Ruehle, son of Sun Valley Gardens owners, recalls his childhood on 25-acre naturist camp My parents moved to Fenwick from Toronto in about 1955-56 to operate a nudist camp — a bit unusual in those days I guess, but my father had had this plan since his youth in Germany, where it was already a fairly popular idea. He had found out that a small group of people from Fonthill, St. Catharine's, and Toronto had started to gather on some land on Roland Road, and my parents acquired the property, I believe in 1955. They called it Sun Valley Gardens and started to make significant improvements.

At its peak, from the early ‘60s to the mid-‘70s, there were about 500 adult members, and it was one of the largest nudist clubs in North America, with members coming from as far as Toronto, Montreal, Boston, and Cleveland—even annual seasonal visi- tors from Los Angeles and Florida. It was so well-known that we once received a letter sent from West Africa which was addressed just, “Sun Valley Gardens, Canada.” The post office in Montréal marked it “try Toronto,” Toronto marked it, “near St. Cath- arine's,” and of course, St. Catharine's knew where to send it.

I was born in 1957 and lived on the property full time until I left to go to Toronto. An interesting childhood, I would say. Read more

The Stigma Of Social Nudity In The Age Of Casual Sex… Please Explain This To Me!

I was chatting with my millennial friend Addie the other day about outing oneself as a naturist through social media, noting that we both work in education related fields that frequently involves working with minors, and a well-intended misstep could easy escalate into an unintended kerfuffle. In fact, I endured one such incident about a year ago when my naturist platforms became entangled with my professional profile; when Facebook algorithms grabbed my Instagram data and started asking all my profession- al colleagues to follow Naturist Dan!

I found the glitch and disabled the effected accounts for a few weeks and essentially shrugged it off as, “Well now, there are a few more people who’ve seen my naked ass than existed three days ago.” One never knows the long-term implications of such an episode, but at the same time, I’m finding that one of the benefits of aging is caring less and less about such things, as my professional endeavors are gradually taking a backseat to my ambitions for personal fulfillment. If I had a therapist, I suspect he’d say that I’m making good progress with that.

It’s here in the conversation where a reader will typically chime in to admonish me for not coming out with the Full Monty, proudly posting photos on any social media platform that will allow full-frontal nudity, while fervently proclaiming, “I’m a naturist dammit! If you don’t like it, don’t look at me!” I’ve been the direct recipient of this sermon on repeated occasions, and I get it! We can’t fully normalize social nudity if we are apologetic at best; coy at least about revealing our identity. In my case, even if the platform allows it, (e.g. Twitter) I have yet to post personal photos that reveal genita- lia, nor am I willing to let anything out there that could be picked up Read more

7 Benefits Of Walking In The Winter 2020 Schedule of Events I love an early morning winter walk! It sets me up for the day, it motivates me, wakes January my body up and gets my blood pumping. Whether it be a hike over snow topped mountains or a frosty local walk with the dogs. As a bonus, the trails are much quieter

too, the good weather walkers confined to their living rooms. There is something about this time of year that has me looking forward to wintry walks.

Of course there is many a good reason for the mood it gives me apart from cold fresh air. A winter walk can do a whole lot of good for the body and mind in lots of ways. Lets take a look at some.

This is the one effect I always feel on a winter walk. The mood boost and the benefit to the wellbeing of my mind! I can always look back on myself and see the massive difference in myself on days I have got up and walked early, or lazed that extra half hour and found it hard to be productive for the rest of the day.

I will go into some of the physical health benefits at play here later, but one thing a good walk in the fresh air does is releases endorphins. Keen athletes and runners know that ‘high’ feeling after every big run they do. We all produce them, it only takes the body 20 – 30 minutes of walking to get your own body’s natural mood boosters going? Why reserve the good vibes just for sunny warm days? In fact, if you are far from being an athlete the mental boost from these endorphins as you walk could feel even greater as you are not used to them. Read more
