Do Not Overpack While the Trip Is for Three Weeks and We Will Be Visiting Places with Different

Packing list

Do not overpack!! While the trip is for three weeks and we will be visiting places with different climates, you do not need to bring a lot of clothes. Everywhere in Argentina laundry service is readily available, and for about 2USD you will get your clothes washed, dried and folded. You will want to take advantage of this service rather than packing too much.

One piece of luggage and a carry-on should be enough. You should also have a day-pack for excursions as well as for going to school every day.

We strongly recommend that you pack into your carry-on your camera, binoculars, medications, passport, airline tickets, travel documents, money and other valuables. If room permits we suggest you also pack into your carry-on a pair of socks, underwear, T- shirt etc. just in case it takes a day or two for your checked luggage to catch up with you.

Essential Items:

Passport Money

The national currency in Argentina are Argentine pesos, with the exchange rate of about 3 pesos for a dollar. Expect to be using the national currency. Most places you will be asked to pay in cash, although in supermarkets, bigger restaurants and shopping malls credit cards are accepted. We recommend bringing the following: Cash - you will have an opportunity to exchange USD for Argentine pesos at the airport upon arrival ATM card - Amsouth ATM card (Visa) can be used in the ATMs, to withdraw money as necessary (check with the bank for the exact amount of the international transaction fee, about 2.50 per transaction) VISA credit Card - do not bring traveler’s checks, the yare not very practical in Argentina (the commission is too high and time spend in the bank too long)

While breakfast is always provided by your family and/or the hotel, you will be responsible for your own lunch and dinner. Count on approximately 25.00/day for meals/subways/incidentals. This is a generous amount, you are likely to spend less. In addition to you meal expenses, please consult the list and prices of optional activities we will be offering. We would lie to encourage you to consider some of these activities, to fully enjoy the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the country and its culture. You may need additional funds for souvenirs.
