PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

05/13-Present: Lead technician for the tactical video capture system (TVCS) aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms. Duties include maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, modifying and installing various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, measuring, controlling equipment and industrial robotic devices. Applied technical knowledge of electronic principals in determining equipment malfunctions and applied skill in restoring equipment operation. Evaluated performance and reliability of prototype or production mode and recommended changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

04/10-05/13: Columbia Group; Ground Based Operational Surveillance System (GBOSS) Field Service Representative (FSR) Installer/Trainer responsible for the maintenance, operation and Marine Corps integration on seven systems, three variants while maintaining a 100 percent operational readiness. Duties include understanding networking, linux and windows based operating systems, camera systems, sensors, fiber optics, routers, servers, internet protocol scheme and wire diagram trouble shooting procedures. Supported 20 Enhanced Mojave Vipers (EMV’s) consisting of 2 battalions per exercise for a total on hand strength of 40,000 Marines. Assisted in training 29 future field service representatives at Crane, Indiana for deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Conducted 8 operator courses for home based units consisting of 120 Marines. Made continuous liaison with home based units to solicit training for Marines and conducted post deployment surveys with relation to employment of GBOSS systems abroad. Developed after action reviews for all exercises and briefed the unit commanders and staff on their unit readiness with regards to GBOSS.

06/09- 04/10: Store Worker, 7 Day Store, MCCS (NA-2).

08/2008: Retired from the United States Marine Corps after 20 years of faithful service.

01/06- 08/2008: Volunteered for duty as the Senior First Sergeant for 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, to deploy to Iraq. Successfully completed two combat tours to Iraq filling additional billets as Battalion Sergeant Major and Headquarters & Service Company Commander in charge of 1,000 Marines, Sailors, civilians and contractors. Familiarized with the BAT/HIIDE systems used to screen all IA soldiers and produce ID cards. Assigned as the Camp Commandant, in charge of the entire camp, while deployed to Rawah, Iraq. Conducted five ceremonial events for retirees and was the senior enlisted advisor to the H&S Co. Company Commander, Battalion Sergeant Major and Battalion Commander. Was awarded a second Meritorious Service Medal by the President of the United States.

08/04- 01/06: Served as the 1stSgt for Alpha Co., Marine Corps Communication Electronics School (MCCES), the second largest company in the United States Marine Corps, with over 700 Marines. Responsibilities included management of all administrative support, which included all legal matters, authorizing leave, mentoring Marines, ensuring every Marine met the requirements for promotion and counseling Marines. Coordinated with the local authorities when necessary and conducted ceremonial events and presentations. Provided input and advice to the Company Commander on all matters regarding the state of morale, welfare, discipline and order within the Company. Mentored Marines in professionalism, leadership, ethics and fitness. Was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal by the President of the United States. Gary E. Gall

12/03- 08/04: Charlie Co., MCCES 1stSgt for 300 Marines. Primary duties were to serve as the senior enlisted advisor to the commander, ensure the welfare of all Marines, handle the administrative duties for the company and enforce all rules and regulations governing the armed forces of the United States of America. Since this Company never had a 1stSgt, all orders and regulations pertaining to this billet had to be drafted and implemented.

04/03- 12/03: Bravo Co., MCCES Formal School Instructor for the Communication Chief’s Course and Wire Chief’s Course for the Marine Corps. Instructed the senior enlisted Marines in their occupational specialty. Instruction performed included field wire communications, switchboard implementation and operation, fiber optics, communication security systems, and integrating communications into the battalion’s operating procedures.

01/00-04/03: Second Battalion, Third Marines Wire Chief and Company Gunnery Sergeant supporting in excess of 700 Marines. Responsible for the logistics support for all Marines and preparing the battalion for two deployments to Okinawa, Japan. Overall responsible for the readiness of all Marines and the liaison for the families while forward deployed. Completed two successful deployments to Okinawa facilitating the movement of all personnel in and out of country. Developed the communication/electronics portion of the battalions standard operation procedures. Appointed as the SNCOIC of the combat operation center (COC) for all communication matters.

11/95-12/99: Ninth Communication Battalion Assistant Wire Communication Chief and Platoon Sergeant in Charge of 35 Marines. Directly responsible to the Company Commander and 1stSgt regarding all issues pertaining to the Communications Platoon. One of the first Marines to be instructed on the MSQ-126, command and control system for use by the Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) Commander. Conducted briefs and provided communication capabilities to the commanding general and his staff.

11/92-11/95: Served as a Canvassing Recruiter, responsible for facilitating eight high schools. Worked with the public, local businesses and law enforcement agencies. Conducted presentations at schools and enlisted 63 qualified applicants into the United States Marine Corps.

10/88-11/92: Served as a wireman and telephone installations specialist in a communications platoon. Deployed to Panama in support of Operation Just Cause in 1989 and to Saudi Arabia in 1990 in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Was appointed as the commanders driver for Marine Forces Panama in support of combat operations. Overall responsible to the commander and SgtMaj to ensure the communications vehicle was at 100 percent operational readiness at all times. During Operation Desert Shield and Storm, appointed as the technical control NCO in charge of all wire communications.

08/88-10/88: Recruit at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California.

08/1987: Enlisted into the United States Marine Corps.
