Orland Parks & Recreation 2010 Program Guide

Youth Flag Football (Co-ed) January 8, 2010 – February 26, 2010 This is a non-contact recreational youth flag football league designed to help improve your football skills while having a great experience. You can be big or small and still succeed by showing off your talent in front of all your friends. Mouth pieces are required. Shorts or pants without pockets need to be worn during the games if possible. Ages: 7-14 yrs old Where: Bihler Field Fee: $30 per child When: Friday Nights Time: 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm Registration Deadline: December 18, 2009 Practice can be held up to one hour before game time Volunteer Coaches are needed.

Youth Basketball Jauary 9, 2010 – February 27, 2010 Come hoop it up with the Orland Recreation Department. This is the perfect time to learn the game of basketball while having fun with your friends. The 6 and 7 year olds will be going through drills to help improve their skills, and the 8 through 13 year olds will be split up into teams and will play games. Teams are split up by age group. Ages: 6-14 years Where: Orland Recreation Center Fee: $30 When: Saturday Mornings Time: 8:30am – 3:30pm Registration Deadline: December 18, 2009 Volunteer Coaches are needed

Adult Basketball February 1, 2010 – May 3, 2010 Make a team, come out, and get in shape. This is a great way for you and your friends to have fun while playing basketball. This is a recreational league for adults to have fun. This league will be for adults 18 years of age or older unless cleared by a parent or guardian. Each team must have a minimum of five players. If you are currently involved in a high school sport, you are not allowed to participate. Ages: 18+ Where: Orland Recreation Center Fee: $150 per team When: Monday & Wednesday Nights Time: 6:00-TBA Registration Deadline: January 18, 2010 Youth Basketball Camp February 15, 2010 – February 19, 2010 Come hoop it up with the Orland Recreation Department. This is the perfect time to learn the game of basketball while having fun with your friends. You will be going through drills and playing games to help improve your game. We can only have 35 participants so hurry in to register. Ages: 8-12 yrs Where: Orland Recreation Center Fee: $30 When: Monday – Friday Time: 8:30am -12pm Registration Deadline: February 1, 2010

Adult Volleyball March 4, 2010 – May 6, 2010 This is a Recreational league meant to promote and conduct a positive leisure time activity, which encourages fitness, healthy competition, and an atmosphere of fun and fellowship in the form of organized Adult Volleyball. League rules will be followed. Ages: 18+ Where: Orland Recreation Center Fee: $150 per team When: Thursday Nights (10 weeks) Time: 6:00-TBA Registration Deadline: February 15, 2010

T-Ball March 13, 2010 – May 15, 2010 T-Ball is a great way for kids to learn the fundamentals of baseball or softball. All coaches are instructed to teach all players basic fundamentals, sportsmanship, and to have fun. The birthdate of the child will determine the league he or she can participate in. The cut off date will be TBD. Ages: 4-6yrs Where: Spence Park Fee: $40 When: Saturdays Time: 9am-12pm Registration Deadline: March 1, 2010 Volunteer Coaches are needed

Co-Ed Softball May 25, 2010 – August 12, 2010 Create your own softball team, come out and play and have a great time. A team must consist of no more than 25 players. A game will consist of five men and five women. Price includes umpire fees, scorekeepers, lights, field preparation, game balls for men and women, etc. The objective of the Orland Recreational Adult Softball Leagues shall be to promote and conduct a positive leisure time activity, which encourages fitness, healthy competition, and an atmosphere of fun and fellowship in the form of organized softball for players and spectators. Ages: 18+ (If under the age of 18, you must have a signed letter from a parent or guardian. You must be 16 years of age to participate.) Where: Lely Park Fee: $400 per team When: Tuesday & Thursday Nights Time: 6pm-9pm Registration Deadline: May 10, 2010 Men’s Fast Pitch Softball May 26, 2010 – August 11, 2010 Men’s Fast-pitch softball season will be starting Wednesday May 26th, 2010. The league entry fee is $650. This gets your team a guaranteed 10 to 12 games and also covers umpire fees, scorekeepers, lights, field preparation, game balls, etc. Teams are responsible for providing all the teams equipment (Catchers must wear all protective gear). Ages: 18+ Where: Lely Park Fee: $650 per team When: Wednesday Nights Time: 6pm-9pm Registration Deadline: May 10, 2010

Summer Sports Camp I June 7, 2010 – June 11, 2010 Come join the Orland Recreation Department and play a variety of sports, games, and activities from 8:30 am to noon. Each Friday we will have a special lunch (provided in the fee). Space is limited so hurry in to the Rec Department to register. Sign up early to reserve your spot!! Ages: 7-13yrs Where: Orland Recreation Center Fee: $50 per week per child When: Monday - Friday Time: 8am- 12pm Registration Deadline: May 24, 2010

Co-Ed Softball Tournament July 30, 2010 – August 1, 2010 This is a combination “round-robin” and single elimination type tournament with an emphasis on playing a lot of ball. The “round robin” portion will have four groups of four teams each. The team’s record in “round robin” play will be the basis for separating the teams into two divisions: Division A for the 1st and 2nd place teams in each group and Division B for the 3rd and 4th place teams in each group. A modified single elimination will be played to decide 1st through 4th place in each Division A and B awards will be given for at least 1st and 2nd place in Division A and 1st for the B Division. Each team will play a minimum of four games during the tournament. Adult Flag Football – NON Contact September 7, 2010 – November 9, 2010 The objective of the Orland Adult 6x6 Flag Football Passing League is to promote and conduct a positive leisure time activity which encourages fitness, healthy competition, and an atmosphere of fun and fellowship in the form of organized flag football for players and spectators. This will be a NON-CONTACT flag football league. In the game of football there will be some incidental contact, it will be up to the Official to make that determination. This league will be for adults 18 years of age or older unless cleared by a parent or guardian. If you are currently involved in a high school sport, you are not allowed to participate. Ages: 18+ Where: Bihler Field Fee: $150 per team When: Tuesday Nights Time: 6:00-TBA Registration Deadline: August 9, 2010 Mandatory Coaches / Players Meeting: TBA. At least one member per team must attend the meeting or that team will not participate in the league
