The Greater Ramsey UNICO “4th annual Charity di vino” Northern Jersey’s Largest Wine Tasting Event

Meals on Wheels

The Greater Ramsey UNICO Chapter will be sponsoring its 4th annual Charity di Vino, northern New Jersey’s largest wine tasting event. It will be held on Friday, October 26th, 2012, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah. Featured this year will be a cook-off competition by two local chefs and representatives from the New York JETS. In addition to 150+ wines being served by Super Cellars, there will be raffle prizes, a live auction, vendors, pasta and dessert which will include cakes donated by the Cake Boss , cannolis donated by Brooklyn Cannolis and coffee donated by Starbucks.

All proceeds from this event will benefit charitable causes and will be shared among the following charitable organizations:

Hearts & Crafts Counseling - (www.heartsandcraftscounseling.org) – provides grief counseling to children and adults coping with the loss of a loved one. They use art therapy, one-on-one counseling, and group therapy to guide children and adults through the healing process. Thanks to generous donations, Hearts & Crafts Counseling is able to ensure that no family gets turned away for lack of resources.

Meaningful Movements - (www.meaningfulmovements.org/) – offers quality developmental, dance and exercise classes to children and adults who are considered by Meaningful Movements to be “differently abled” rather than disabled. Participants are encouraged to focus on their strengths in a positive and supportive environment.

Meals on Wheels - (www.pvmealsonwheels.org/) – a nonprofit organization that provides meals to people in northern Bergen County who are unable to shop or cook for themselves due to age or disability.

The Center for Food Action - (www.cfanj.org/) – CFA’s mission is to prevent hunger and homelessness and to improve the lives of individuals and families living in poverty. CFA provides emergency food packages, rental and utility assistance, counseling, advocacy and other essential services to those in need living in northern New Jersey.

Greater Ramsey UNICO Chapter - (www.grunico.org) – a service organization whose members raise funds for cancer research, mental health counseling, assistance to children and seniors in need, college scholarships for graduating seniors and many other worthwhile causes. Some specific organizations that have benefited in Bergen County include the Northwest Bergen Mental Health Center, Center for Food Action, Hearts and Crafts, Meaningful Movements, Emergency Managements Teams in Ramsey and Mahwah, Meals on Wheels, The Ramsey Library and others to name a few.
