CAMP MANAGER GUEST GROUP INFORMATION

In Breakaway Lodge’s continuing effort to provide our guests with the best service and accommodations, while respecting our neighbors that surround the Lodge, the following information will hopefully help you in your stay.

SERVICE PROMISES: 1. We will attempt to accommodate your every need if possible. 2. We will always provide you enough food that is hot when it is supposed to be hot and cold when it is supposed to be cold. Your meal will always be on time. 3. A lodge that is extremely clean, comfortable and well-maintained. 4. A guest host that will be available to meet your every need.

ITEMS TO BE AWARE OF: Community Courtesies: 1. When you enter Gearhart, the speed limit is 20 miles per hour, which is strictly enforced. 2. Please park all cars only in designated areas in front of the lodge. Please refrain from driving on the grass. Use the basketball court for loading and unloading only. 3. Gearhart has a 9:00 pm noise ordinance, please be respectful of this law. Keep all windows and doors closed after 9:00 pm to contain the noise. We do not allow megaphones or amplified audio systems on the property. Safety Issues within the Lodge 1. Please be aware that if one of your campers intentionally pulls the fire alarm, he/she will politely be asked to leave. As the camp manager, you will need to make arrangements for that camper’s departure. 2. The following are not permitted on the property: pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, dangerous knives, fireworks or explosives. 3. There is no smoking at Breakaway Lodge. 4. Please be aware there should be one camper per bed. Safety Issues Outside the Lodge 1. If you are planning an excursion at the beach, there is no swimming unless accompanied by a lifeguard. If you have a lifeguard, Breakaway Lodge needs a copy of the lifeguard certification. Other Lodge Related Issues 1. If your group is participating in any sort of “messy games” during your stay at Breakaway, please hose participants off thoroughly and keep wet clothes outside. 2. Please make sure you are aware of the no graffiti policy. You will be charged $50 per instance. 3. Please be aware that all food and drink is to be consumed in the dining room and outside decks only. 4. Breakaway does not allow gum in the lodge. 5. Shoes and shirt must be worn in the dining room/kitchen. Closed toed shoes are required if working in the kitchen. 6. Please remain out of the kitchen if you are not working in it.

ARRIVAL AT THE LODGE: 1. Upon arrival (which happens after 4PM on your arrival date), you will be greeted by Suzanne Como or Jeff Johnson, the Property Manager. 2. We will need to spend 10 minutes with you going over your weekend, the camp schedule, discuss some weekend rules and receive your health form copies for every camper. 3. HEALTH FORM INFORMATION: A Young Life Properties Health, Consent and Release Form must be filled out for each person in your group for your stay at Breakaway Lodge. A master copy is included in this packet for you to copy. Please make duplicates of health forms as Breakaway Lodge will need to hold one set of forms.

WORK CREW: 1. Work Crew consists of individuals solely dedicated to working alongside property staff to make your time at Breakaway run as smoothly as possible. 2. Responsibilities include setting tables, serving meals, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning and miscellaneous lodge tasks as assigned by property staff. There is no charge for your dedicated work crew. 3. Please be prepared to wear closed toe shoes while working in the kitchen.

DEPARTURE FROM THE LODGE: 1. You will need to depart at 12:00 PM on your departing day. 2. Clean-up procedure (which was discussed upon arrival) will follow the laminated sheets provided by the lodge and your host will be available to answer any questions on your departure day. 3. You will need to meet with your Breakaway camp host to settle the bill and discuss how your weekend went. 4. We will ask that you fill out an evaluation so that we know how better to serve you in the future.
