Calling All Janiacs!

I’ve been teaching Dear Jane™ at The City Quilter in Manhattan for almost 15 years, and it’s still one of my favorite quilts ever! In this DJ “clinic”, you’ll learn some of my tips and tricks, and get fresh inspiration for your own DJ quilt. We’ll discuss back basting and layered appliqué, (with or without freezer paper), some fabulous fakes and shortcuts, and more. Bring all your DJ blocks and questions!

Please bring the following supplies:

Your Dear Jane™ book Pencil with a hard lead (#2 or harder) Fine, thin pins Your favorite appliqué or piecing needles, like #9 Sharps (I like Clover #9 Gold Eye Appliqué needles) Embroidery needles, size 3/9 Small flat ruler (6”) Fabric scissors Small, sharp embroidery scissors Thimble (if you normally use one) Thread: Matching thread for appliqué Neutral color like grey or beige for piecing Hand Quilting thread in a light, neutral color like grey or beige Freezer paper Glue stick (any kind)

Optional but very useful: Clover® White Marking Pen Light box

Fabrics: 2-4 light colored backgrounds for appliqué blocks, cut 6” x 6” Assortment of cotton fabric for making blocks
