CHOCALOTASCHNIZZEL

Number of People: Between 8-80 (At least 2 groups) Materials: Large chocolate bar (per group) wrapped in newspaper, tape, aluminum foil, or other wraps; plastic knife & fork per group; mittens, hat, scarf and other clothing for each group; one die per group Activity Level: Medium Risk Level: Low

Divide participants into subgroups and ask them to sit in a circle. Explain that they will be rolling the die and then person to the left will grab the die and roll it, going around the circle. Whenever anyone rolls a six, the person who rolled it has to say, “Chocalotaschnizzel” and put on all of the clothing, take the thoroughly-wrapped chocolate bar and attempt to cut into it using only the plastic fork and knife. In the meantime, the other people in the circle have to continue to roll the die. Once any other member of the group rolls a six, s/he says “Chocalotaschnizzel,” and now has to put on the clothing (removing it from the first person), and they resume trying to cut into the package. The game ends when the package is opened and everyone on each group can share the chocolate bar. As a facilitator, the chocolate bars sometimes get mangled, so have back-up chocolate bars for people to eat.
