Lab Safety Mini-Poster

Lab Safety Mini-Poster Name Homework Assignment due: ______Period: Date:

Using your Prentice Hall Life Science textbook at home, and the Handouts pasted into your INB: “Safety Symbols” and “Safety Regulations for Science Students” find at least 10 common lab safety rules that you most likely will need to obey during the school year. In other words considering what you are studying in science this year about living organisms, choose 10 rules that would be the most common. There are 42 to choose from but many of them are very similar and common sense.  Using a sheet of paper provided or one of your own, illustrate each of the 10 lab safety rules that you chose. Please write a caption for each illustration and its safety symbol. The caption must be a brief description of the rule.  The 10 cartoons/pictures need not be very big—they could fit on one side of a regular size paper.  Your illustration/picture can model either what to do when a student follows rules or what happens when a student does not follow lab safety rules.

This how you will be graded on your mini-poster:  Complete Information about the Lab Safety Regulations/Rules.  Information is well organized-clearly labeled, good spacing, use of underlining, bold, showing the safety symbol, etc.  Neatness-penmanship, spelling, straight lines to make boundaries between pictures…  Creative/Colorful/Interesting/Humorous.

BE SURE TO STUDY ALL THE LAB SAFETY RULES FOR THE LAB SAFETY QUIZ.
