Evelyn Briggs

Evelyn Briggs currently serves as the System Director of Quality and Risk and Corporate HIPAA Security Officer for CHRISTUS Health, a faith-based organization sponsored jointly by the Congregations of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in Houston and the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. CHRISTUS Health is one of the largest Catholic health systems in the country, employing more than 25,000 people with total assets of $4.1 billion. With a mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, CHRISTUS Health comprises over 40 hospitals and long-term care facilities, as well as dozens of other health services in more than 70 communities in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Utah, as well as Monterrey and Saltillo, Mexico. CHRISTUS Health is headquartered in the Greater Dallas Metropolitan Area, with additional offices operating in both San Antonio and Houston to support the health system operations.

Evelyn’s role in directing information security over the past eight years has been to develop and lead the system wide HIPAA program, Disaster Recovery program, and to develop and maintain risk assessment and risk management programs to effectively manage risks in the information technology environment while balancing business needs and objectives. Key initiatives have been HIPAA, E-discovery, FTC Red Flag, vulnerability management, secure identity management, secure remote access to enable a mobile clinical workforce, and ITIL Service Management.

Evelyn is a distinguished graduate of Lamar University, with 20+ years of experience in the clinical, IT and audit environments. She maintains CISSP, CISM, and PMP certifications and is a member of ISACA and PMI.
