You will be responsible for planning and directing telecoms staff, representing the Telecoms function within the IT Leadership team, identifying and justifying telecoms upgrades and replacements and providing the infrastructure to satisfy business demands. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for;  responsible for planning and directing telecoms staff, representing the Telecoms function within the IT Leadership team, identifying and justifying telecoms upgrades and replacements and providing the infrastructure to satisfy business demands  Provide leadership to and drive the Telecoms function, effectively monitor core business systems and infrastructure, specifically the SCADA network, IT network and voice infrastructure across all NPg sites and asset locations  Pro-actively develop effective working relationships with stakeholders  Work closely with other IT teams / 3rd parties to resolve complex IT issues  Be able to prioritise constantly changing workload / projects  Playing a key role in contracting for fixed and mobile telecommunications service  Managing the performance of team members  Representing NPg on national and industry telecommunications working group and committees Key Competencies  Communication skills both written and verbal  Team leadership  Budget planning  Investment justification  Planning and organising  Customer focussed Qualifications & Attributes Essential Qualifications and Experience  Candidates will have technical certifications such as CCNA / CCNP  Minimum of HNC / HND  Proven experience managing a network and voice team  Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills  Experience establishing and maintaining key supplier relationships  Experience working alongside both Project board and Architecture Design Authorities  Experience of IT budget management  Experience in managing people and performance  Be able to prioritise a constantly changing workload / projects Desirable Qualifications and Experience  Degree qualified in relevant subject area  Proven experience managing a SCADA network  Proven experience managing a transmission network consisting of UHF and Microwave radio  Experience in a national infrastructure environment would be an advantage  Experience managing mobile and fixed telecoms service contracts  Understanding of resilient voice communications Additional Information
