Subject: Minutes of Meeting for Expediting Self Assessment Activities & Awareness about Teachers & Courses Evaluation of Faculty of Islamic Studies

Date: 13-01-2015 (Tuesday) Venue: Committee Room of Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore.

In Attendance:

Proceedings:

1. Meeting started with the recitation of Holy Quran at 12:45 pm. Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz (Director, QEC) briefed the participants about the importance of Self Assessment procedure as well as the Teachers & Courses Evaluation in the educational institutions. They were also told that the requirements of resources i.e. infrastructure, Office: Quality Enhancement Cell, 1st Floor, Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, University of the Punjab, Lahore. Phone # +92 42 99237019, Email [email protected] facilities (computer labs/teachers) etc. can be identified in their SAR. Director, QEC presented a power point presentation comprising of the following contents:-

 Procedure of Self Assessment Process  Survey forms of the Teachers & Courses Evaluation  Future Plans of QEC  Latest Status about self assessment procedure of Faculty of Behavioral & Social Sciences

a) These surveys should be carried out for all the Teachers; Permanent, Contract and Visiting teachers as well.

b) It was also discussed to discard those survey forms where student has given 0% or 100% marks because no teacher can be 0% or 100%. c) Summary of teacher evaluations is to be shared with HOD and Dean of the respective faculty. Results may be conveyed to the concerned teacher by the HOD. d) QEC staff is available at any time for assistance if so required. Director QEC said that any suggestion to improve the evaluation system will be welcomed. 4. Latest status of the departments was shown to the departments; and the departments committed with QEC about the dates of submission of their SARs.

Meeting ended with the vote of thanks by the Director QEC to the participants.

1. All departments under Faculty of Islamic Studies should send updated PTs list through their HODs till 20-01-2015. 2. Department of Islamic Studies should submit their separate self assessment reports for each program before 1st February, 2015. 3. Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre should submit their separate self assessment reports for each program 1st February, 2015. 4. Quality enhancement cell will discuss matter of submitting self assessment report of Department of Urdu Encyclopedia of Islam with the QAA in HEC that how to generate SARs for such departments in which no students are been produced & only research is been carried out. 5. Soft copies of self assessment manual, sample Self Assessment Report (of IQTM) and presentation given by Director QEC in the meeting will be sent to all the participants. 6. Soft copy of survey forms will also be sent through e-mail to the participants. 7. Progress of departments about the submission of self assessment reports will be checked through regular follow up by QEC.
