CONNECTION A monthly summary of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit’s Meeting of the Board of Directors

The Delaware County Intermediate Unit Board of Directors met on January 7, 2015. The following are some highlights from the meeting: Board of Directors  Approved a contract with the Garnet Valley School District for Edward J. Cardow professional development to provide continued certified coaching support President for the Competent Learner Model from November 5, 2014 through January 31, 2015. To be invoiced in the amount of $3,850 upon completion. Maureen Carey Vice President  Approved the continuation of the MyLearningPlan subscription from January 4, 2015 – January 3, 2016 for a total amount not to exceed $2,400. Frank Agovino Patricia Booker  Approved the renewal subscription for Canvas for 200 seats from January 1, through December 31, 2015 at a cost of $1,034. A. Lewis Boughner Edward Harris  Approved a contract with the Upper Darby School District for DCIU to Barbara Harvey provide ELL consultation and assessment services for students placed Philip R. Hopkins out of district at a cost to the district of $130 per hour for consultations Tracy A. Karwoski and $120 per hour for assessment services for students in grades K-6; Lucy Lopez $140 per hour for students in grades 7-12 from November 2014 through Nancy Mackrides June 2015. Wanda Mann  Approved a contract with the Radnor Township School District for DCIU to Harry J. McElwee provide a .5 FTE Special Education Teacher for consultation and support Robert Reardon to the educational staff employed by The Village from January 5 to June Richard Sonntag 15, 2015 at a cost to the District not to exceed $38,750.

 Approved an amended contract with Potential Discoveries to include Lawrence O’Shea, Ph.D. school-age students for ABA Therapy Services: one-to-one treatment staff Executive Director to be paid $25 per hour and Behavior Specialist Consultant services to be paid $75 per hour. The original contract for Early Intervention only and was Thomas C. Brown board approved June 2014. Treasurer, Nonmember  Acceptance of the June 30, 2014 audit as prepared by Barbacane, Susan Haagen Thornton & Company. Secretary, Nonmember  Approval to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with PDE under Michael V. Puppio, Jr. Purchase Order No. 4300433592 in the amount of $559,095 to provide Solicitor Pennsylvania Statewide System of Support in Region 1 and facilitate payments to Intermediate Units within Region 1 from December 31, 2014 Adriene M. Irving through September 30, 2015. Editor  Approval to enter into an agreement with the following IU’s to provide services in amounts indicated effective October 9, 2014 through September 30, 2015: Bucks County IU--$125,529.76; Chester County IU-- $107,627.56; Montgomery County--IU $138,054.56; Philadelphia IU-- $59,243.56.
