HOW ZONTA CLUB OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA SUPPORTS THE ZONTA MISSION In order to the promote the ideals and objects of Zonta , the Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma donates one-third of its fundraising profits to Zonta International and distributes two-thirds of its fundraising profits locally through educational awards and donations to local, like-minded, service organizations. In 2014, the Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma donated funds to No Boundaries, Martha’s House, Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, YWCA’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner’s Program and the Institute for the Economic Empowerment of Women. ZONTA CLUB OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA FUNDRAISING HISTORY Prior to 2008 our fundraising efforts were based on the personal sales efforts of our club members. We made items that could be sold as gifts for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Administrative Assistant Day and sold pecans. The effort required for these projects was great while the profits were small. In 2008 we took a different approach and launched our inaugural Fall Classic Golf Tournament. We considered the tournament a success with a profit of $5,336. The profit from this one effort amounted to more profit than we normally made through all of our previous fundraising projects combined on an annual basis. For this reason, we have continued to focus on our Annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament as our primary fundraising event. Currently, our golf tournament profits are derived from a combination of funds from team fees, tournament day beverage sales and sponsorships gained from the efforts of individual member solicitation. Individual members take our golf tournament materials, which include an advertising flyer, letter explaining how the funds from the tournament will be utilized and club brochure to solicit sponsorships. The graph below details our Golf Tournament Profit History and shows that our members have been successful at increasing our profits – primarily through an increase in individual sponsors.

Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma Fundraising Portfolio Our Annual Zonta Fall Classic has been well-received among golfers, is always well attended and of late has included a waiting list of teams wanting to play in the tournament. Below is a graph depicting the number of teams fielded for each year’s tournament from a possible of 36 teams with an occasional capacity of 40+ teams depending on the golf course.

The Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma contributes our success with the Zonta Fall Classic Golf Tournament to a commitment of executing an efficiently-run tournament, with friendly, helpful Zontian volunteers, affordable team fees, goodie bags fortified with snacks to sustain our golfers, and ensuring a door prize is available for every player. This philosophy has contributed to a history of well-attended tournaments.
